The best times of the year to visit Sapa are in the spring and fall. Summers tend to be rainy and
muddy, while winter temperatures can drop to the freezing mark (Sapa ushered in 2000 with snow!).
Weather really does make a difference here, because the spectacular scenery is all but blotted out
when there is cloud cover and rain. Ignore the other Nikon-toting tourists in the villages and get out
into the countryside, where you just may still catch a glimpse into hill-tribe life of a couple of centuries
ago.
20h00 on 10th Oct 2012: Our Tourguide take you from your hotel to Tran Quy Cap railways station for
your night train about 21h00 to get to Lao Cai station to Sapa.
Day 1 :11th Oct 2012: Lao Cai – Sapa, visit Lao Chai & Ta Van Village. ( B, L, D )
5.30am - Arrive in Lao Cai. The bus ride uphill to Sapa takes a little over an hour, giving you a
glimpse of the stunning vistas and impressive rice terraces. You'll have breakfast in a local
Restaurant, then meet with our local guide. Walk down through the villages of Lao Chai and Ta Van.
The trekking route offers some challenge as you balance on the rice terraces and a small trail on the
steep mountainside. The vegetation is dense as the trail leads up to a peaceful village perched on the
Hoang Lien mountainside, relax by a local stream for a picnic lunch. Dinner and overnight at
homestay at Ta Van village.
Day 2: 12th Oct 2012: Ta Van - Giang Ta Chai – Sapa (B,L,D)
After breakfast, you will have another trek to Giang Ta Chai a village of the red Dzao people then
back to Sapa by motorbike or car. Relax, see Sapa town and Sapa market.
Stay overnight in Hotel in Sapa.
Day 3 13th Oct 2012: Visit Cat Cat, Sin Chai villages - Night train back to Hanoi (B,L,D)
After breakfast, visit Cat Cat and Sin Chai villages.
12h:00: Have lunch in the Restaurant.
17h:00: Get on the bus to Lao Cai railway station, have dinner
19h:00: Get the night train back to Hanoi.
