Coc ly is a small village on the Chay river inhabited by the Flower H'mong Minority people. The Flower
H'mong traditionally wear a distinctive and bright colored costume. They are a gentle, softly spoken
people who live in the steep mountainous country close to the Chinese border. Because Coc Ly is more
remote than Sapa, the dress and way of life is more traditional than in the large centers. The market
deals in fruit, vegetable, pork and chickens, in addition to colorful fabrics and items of traditional
dress.




Itinerary:
Day 1: Lao Cai – Sapa, trek to Ta Van village                                               (L/d)
The train arrives in Lao Cai at 6.30 a.m, Our Impress team will welcome you by your name sign. We
drive up to Sapa about 50 minutes on Bus, you will be taken to a small guesthouse for a morning
showers then your breakfast at a local restaurant here.
After breakfast & short morning beak and have some last preparation for the trekking to villages
At 10 Am we leave the hotel and start trekking. The fist part is on the road but we soon turn to the
right and walk on a small path down the valley to Muong hoa river and visit the Black Hmong in Lao
chai. Black Hmong is one of the biggest minority group in Sa pa district. They are proud of their
culture and keep their traditions way of living. They have their own language, wear traditions indigo
bluclothing                                                                                              …
After that you continue go to Ta van village to visit the Zay People. Zay is a fairly small minority group
of 38.000.people who live in the mountains in the North west Vietnam. The development has meant
that some of their old custom have been lost but many woman still wear tradition shits with purple,
blue or green color. The Zay houses are build in wood and bamboo with clay floor. We stay overnight
with a local family in Ta van and have dinner there.
Day 2: Ta van – Giang Ta chai – Sa pa                                                          (B/L)
After the breakfast we continue to visit Red Zao people at Giang Ta chai village. Where we also see a
waterfall. The Red Zao woman have very colorful embroideries and coins on their clothing. On their
head they wear a red scarf. Some of the women have shaved off their eyebrows because of a nice Red
Zao Legend.
We continue go along small path in the rice filds, cross the Muong hoa river and trek up to Su pan
where you meet the car pick you up to Sa pa (Trekking distance: 10 Km)
Overnight at the hotel
Day 3: Sapa to Coc Ly tuesday market and Lao Cai station                                        ( B, L)
Getting up early for breakfast, checking out the hotel, and then driving down to Coc Ly market (106
km from Sapa). When we are about to arrive, we will see a lot of hill tribes carrying with them the
home-made products or pulling dogs, buffalos on their way heading to the market. You are free to get
around the market and witness their trading activities, please be soft and nice to the locals since they
will not like being taken photo without their permission.
You might like to have your lunch here at the stall inside the market Let’s see what is like then you
can decide there.
In the afternoon, walking around villages of Flower H’mong and tasking corn wine. Then we transfer to
Lao Cai town. Dinner here and boarding the night train. After 8,5 hours, you arrive in Hanoi station at
5.30 Am.
