Job Responsibilities :
3G / UMTS DT(Drive Test),DATA ANALYSER & FIELD OPTIMIZATION:
 Optimization of UMTS sites based on Coverage RSCP, Quality Ec/Io, Pilot
pollution, Missing neighbors, Soft Handover using drive test data’s.
 Optimize to improve Ec/Io (Reduce Pilot Pollution) by improving RSCP of dominant cells
and reducing coverage (Interference) of less dominant sectors through antenna Tilt
changes and power changes, thus rectify the overshooting sectors issues.
Summary of Achievements:
 Giving special attention to elevated areas like bridges and provide dominant pilot in such
areas.
 Checking Co Scrambling code issues.
 HSDPA & HSUPA drive testing for checking throughput in Network. HSDPA parameters
like CQI, Modulation etc.
 WCDMA parameters monitoring like, RSCP, Ec/No.
 Cluster Drive Test to identify the areas with poor coverage and call drops
 Regularly monitors and maintenance of 3G KPIs to ensure optimum performance in terms
of accessibility, retain ability, mobility, utilization and Throughput.
 Analysis of drive test data to identify and troubleshoot missing neighbors, coverage holes,
pilot pollution areas, areas of no dominance, overshooting sites, parameter inconsistency
etc
 RF Coverage optimization using antenna tilt and azimuth fine tuning for optimal coverage
overlap and reduction of pilot pollution by Ec/No and RSCP improvements
 Resolves capacity problems like RRC failures thru CE license upgrade.
 Resolves Drop related problems by suggesting proper neighbors after WNCS analysis and
proper soft changes.
 Resolves Mobility related problems by prioritizing neighbors and put proper parameters.
 Resolves Integrity related problems by analyzing Terrain and neighbor trends.
 Load Sharing and traffic optimization by soft changes.
 Preparing of network database, neighbor data base, and auditing and planning of proper
neighbor and frequency.
 To analyze statistical trend of KPI’s using spreadsheet software such as MSExcel, rank and
optimize the cells affecting the Network KPI’s.
 Analyzing Drive test logs using TEMS, suggesting changes accordingly thereby
optimizing the network by making necessary changes both physically and parametrically
to maintain and improve the KPI’s.
 Evaluate, prioritize and lead decisions to solve network related complaints of subscribers.
 Evaluate and plan for new sites to overcome coverage patches and fill capacity area.
 Followed up any alarms occurring on the network, and performed analysis of nature of the
fault from the performance counters generated by the network elements.
 Maintaining worst cell tracker and 3G site Data base.
2G GSM DRIVE TEST, DATA ANALYSER & FIELD OPTIMIZATION:
 Physical optimization of existing sites.
 Finding out the Interference problem & rectify the same.
 Identify the reasons for SD Blocking SD Drop, TCH Blocking, TCH Drop & Handover
failures.
 Auditing of new sites and verifying the hardware issues, tilt, Antenna height and
orientation according to the planning database.
 Primary verification of drive data and taking necessary corrective measures, like Neighbor
addition and deletion and interference analysis.
 Providing appropriate Tilts (Electrical /Mechanical) to reduce the interference or improve
the coverage.
 Suggesting necessary parametric changes in the network.
 Log file analysis and recommending necessary hard and soft optimization changes.
