Gary Granite tells the story of his life journey through the rock cycle. He begins as a granite rock on a mountain top. Heavy rain pushes him off the mountain and he rolls into a river. As he flows downstream, he experiences weathering from the river water and crushing from glaciers that turn him into rock flour. The flour settles in a sand bar where he is further crushed and ground down into sediment. Finally, he covers the bones of a dinosaur and becomes part of the fossilized remains, transforming into a sedimentary rock.
