It emphasizes having peace with God through Jesus as the foundation of protection. It also stresses the importance of lifting up the shield of faith in community with other believers and not in isolation in order to withstand the flaming arrows of the enemy.

It encourages people to hope in God, finding renewed strength to soar and accomplish great things without growing weary or faint, as described in Isaiah 40:31. The document discusses six basic fears that plague humans: 1) fear of poverty, 2) fear of criticism, 3) fear of ill health, 4) fear of loss of love, 5) fear of old age, and 6) fear of death. It states that all other fears are minor in comparison. These fears occur in cycles in societies, such as the fear of poverty during the Great Depression and the fear of death during World War II. The document also claims that one's state of mind can be controlled and that physicians are less susceptible to disease because they do not fear illness. Finally, it argues that thoughts become physical realities, so fear-based thoughts will manifest as fearful experiences.

God calls on His end-time people to earnestly study prophecy and pray so that His purposes may be fulfilled.

With courage and patience, she revealed the plot and ensured the downfall of the evil Haman, using the position and preparation God had given her for such a time as this.
God loved the world so much that he sent his only Son so that all who believe in him will have eternal life rather than perish. God did not send his Son to condemn the world but to save it. Those who believe in Jesus are not condemned, while those who do not believe are already condemned for not believing in God's Son. People love darkness rather than light because their deeds are evil, and everyone who does wrong hates the light and avoids it to hide their works. But those whose lives are characterized by truth come to the light so their deeds done according to God may be seen.

3) At Kadesh-Barnea, when the Israelites faced a lack of water, they quickly forgot God's past help and turned on Moses and Aaron with complaints instead of seeking God, showing they had not learned from past lessons.

After the Great Disappointment of 1844, the Millerite movement fragmented into three main groups. The Sabbatarian Adventists believed that the timing of the event in 1844 was correct but that the event itself was wrong. Through Bible study and a vision from Hiram Edson, they developed the doctrine of an investigative judgment occurring in heaven's sanctuary. Ellen White began receiving visions around this time which helped confirm their doctrines, though her role was confirmation rather than initiation in doctrinal development. The early Sabbatarians emphasized the Bible as their sole authority and studied doctrines through Scripture before Ellen White might provide additional light through visions.

Diversity/ Debates in Adventism, Yesterday & Todayniwres
The document discusses the theological diversity and changes that have occurred within Seventh-day Adventism over time. It notes that Adventist theology has evolved and taken on different perspectives. There has been disagreement over the nature of God, the Godhead, the law in Galatians, righteousness by faith, and other doctrines. While some advocated conservative or historical positions, others promoted more progressive or evangelical views. The church has moved from largely rejecting the Trinity early on to accepting it as a fundamental belief.
THIS EXPLAINS THAT JUDGMENT IS A PROCESS; NOT AN EVENT. GOD DOES NOT NEED TO DO ALL THIS; BUT IN ORDER TO ADDRESS IN FAIRNESS ANY QUESTIONS THE ANGELS MIGHT HAVE HAD, AFTER LUCIFER FELL FROM HEAVEN, HE NEEDS TO DO THIS. WOULD YOU?
1) The document discusses the superiority of Jesus's priesthood and sacrifice compared to the Old Testament priesthood and sacrifices. It emphasizes that Jesus's sacrifice was perfect and only needed to be done once for all time.
2) Key aspects highlighted include Jesus passing through the heavens as our great High Priest, His blood cleansing our consciences from sin, and His sacrifice taking away sin once for all in contrast to the yearly sacrifices under the Old Covenant.
3) The document urges believers to hold fast to their confession in Jesus and draw near to God, since through Jesus's sacrifice we now have confidence to enter God's presence.
The document discusses the concepts of possibility thinking and reflective thinking. It provides biblical examples of individuals who demonstrated these types of thinking, both positively and negatively.
Specifically, it compares the ten spies who had a negative view of the promised land to the two spies, Joshua and Caleb, who maintained a positive, possibility-focused perspective. It also examines how Elijah demonstrated possibility thinking when vastly outnumbered.
The document also looks at how Peter grew through reflective thinking after denying Jesus, and how King Saul failed to learn from past mistakes due to a lack of reflection. Overall, it promotes developing habits of possibility thinking and reflective thinking based on biblical principles.
Dr. John Oakes is taught a class on Answering the Hard Questions at the 2015 International Christan Evidence Conference at York College in York, Nebraska, June 19-21. He gave a brief overview of the Christian world view before launching into the Christian answer to the questions both believers and non-believers often struggle with, such as the Trinity, the problem of evil, the problem of suffering, the problem of violence in the Old Testament and the problem of Hell. Notes and power point are here:
The document discusses the importance of discipleship and following Jesus as the ultimate teacher of life. It argues that living without guidance from God leads to disaster, but that by delighting in God's ways one can flourish. It emphasizes that the church's purpose is to make disciples who become like Christ. True disciples know and follow Jesus, know their identity and authority in Him, and understand reality from His perspective. Movements grow gradually over time through developing disciples, as small things can become significant. The document outlines a path forward through various discipleship programs and communities to help form disciples.
The document provides biographical information about author Spencer Johnson and summarizes his book "Peaks and Valleys". It describes how the book tells a story of a young man who meets an old man living on a peak, and through their conversations comes to understand how to manage the good and bad times in work and life. It provides quotes from the book about key concepts like appreciating peaks and dealing with valleys, and how to use principles from the story to navigate one's own peaks and valleys.
The document discusses various perspectives on theology and the gospel. It addresses shifting understandings of theology from being a systematic outline of truth to being a creative model-making enterprise. It also discusses different views of the gospel, including emphasizing the kingdom of God narrative over theories of atonement or moralistic messages. The document advocates for theology that is coherent, contextual, conversational, and comprehensive.
What does it mean to repent? How do you actually go about it? And what does the parable of the figtree (Luke 13:6-9) In this presentation we talked about repentance as, rather than assenting to a collection of truth claims, instead it is seeing things as they really are - like Neo choosing to see the Matrix. And then we talked about the stories we inhabit in our culture (e.g. of success) because to see things as they really are, we have to be able to see how we see them, Finally we considered that at least part of the process of the Christian life is to grow into the story of the Redeeming God and God's action through Jesus Christ- and that church seasons are a part of that process.
Perhaps that's a bit much for an evening, but it certainly hung together in my mind.
The document provides principles and tools for effective leadership. It discusses differentiating leadership from management and identifying biblical concepts of servant leadership. Some key points include:

The self-help industry has become an entire entity itself. Whilst some ideas are questionable, the movement itself is a worthy cause.
Taking better care of yourself shouldn’t be contested; it should be wide practice. There are more businesses and individuals exploring the market than ever before. And the overall message of self-help has a positive impact.
It’s clear that men and women face different challenges in the modern day. Some more so than others, and some that neither sex can relate to. Whilst I don’t believe that great books are subjective to either men or women alone, there are some that will be better suited to each.
The document discusses envisioning a new kind of Christian faith through asking new questions rather than making statements. It presents 10 questions that are transforming Christianity, including questions about the biblical narrative, the nature and authority of the Bible, God's apparent violence, who Jesus is and what the gospel means. It argues that questions can create conversations to launch people on new quests, unlike statements that create debates with a fixed outcome. The document explores some of these questions in more depth, like considering alternative understandings to the shape of the biblical narrative and different views of what the Bible is and how it has authority.
The author asks "Why me?" in response to enduring chemotherapy, radiation treatment, and other personal hardships. While reading the Old Testament, the author finds comfort knowing that even biblical heroes faced discouragement in their trials. Though some trials strengthened individuals and pointed to God, all reflected God's faithfulness as the heroes continued walking by faith. The author's hardships have made them long to trust and rest in God's plan despite unanswered questions, taking comfort that God remains present, even in darkness.

Article in The Times of Israel by Andy Blumenthal: Chasing materialism, as we all end up realizing at some point in our lives (or on our death beds), ends up coming to naught. Whatever we get materially, we always end up finding it empty of real meaning and disappointing compared to whatever we dreamt in our imagination that it would be. Moreover, as we get older and sicker, we lose everything we think we have accumulated anyway. However, with age comes wisdom, and that wisdom tells us that life is not about fun, but accomplishing something for our souls, our connection to G-d, and His light, love, and holiness.

The Transformed Mind is a provocative and inspiring volume. In it two influential Ghanaians jointly speak to the world through issues facing Africa. The Introduction to their book boldly announces: “The stage is set. The world is our audience, Africa our aisle, and Ghana our pulpit. We speak as citizens of a world to come. And we’re passionate about the issues we address, in the hope that you will be challenged to change your world.”

The document discusses the trend of mixing elements from different faiths to create new styles of worship. While some see this as allowing flexibility, the Bible recognizes only true and false worship. Attempting to combine the two is a form of syncretism called "Babylon" in the Bible. Throughout history there have been clashes between true and false forms of worship, as Satan's original rebellion centered on worship. The Bible indicates the final conflict in human history will also be over worship. The chapter focuses on drawing lessons from styles of worship while explaining why the issue is so important.

It seems that current missionary work requires spending a lot of money, preparing a lot of materials, and traveling to far away places, so that it feels like missionary work. But what was the result they brought back? It's just a lot of photos of activities, fun eating, drinking and some playing games. And then we have to do the same thing next year, never ending. The church once mentioned that a certain missionary would go to the field where she used to work before the end of his life. It seemed that if she had not gone, no one would be willing to go. The reason why these missionary work is so difficult is that no one obeys God’s words, and the Bible is not the main content during missionary work, because in the eyes of those who do not obey God’s words, the Bible is just words and cannot be connected with life, so Reading out God's words is boring because it doesn't have any life experience, so it cannot be connected with human life. I will give a few examples in the hope that this situation can be changed. A375

You can have a clean record! A preacher illustrates how: When Jesus sits at His heavenly computer,
He highlights our list of sins. Then He hits the DELETE key, totally erasing our sins! But Christ does
more. He also opens up another folder—the file containing His perfect, sinless record. He highlights
and clicks on COPY, then goes back to our record, which is all blank now, and hits the PASTE key.
And, lo and behold, His record appears on our record, and He presses the SAVE key! His
righteousness becomes our own!
“If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all
unrighteousness”

Hope through the Dark
Quick Overview
Hope Through the Dark argues that without the dark, we cannot clearly see the
stars. Thus, the dark moments of adversity often reveal some of life’s most valuable
gifts or blessings. In 30 short chapters of inspiring nuggets, the book captures
some of the precious lessons the author has learned during his journey through the
gloomy night of failure, betrayal, loneliness, and ill-treatment. For all who are
dealing with doubt and discouragement on account of failure and hurt, the author
writes: “The journey would not be easy. But through God’s grace and mercy, you
can have hope through the dark. And you can confidently say, ‘It is well—even in
the well’.”
Six More Chances (Hardcover)
Quick Overview
Failure is one of those things at which all of us excel. And yet, we seldom talk about
this subject of our “expertise.” Success is the celebrity attracting much attention. But
Failure is the outcast living in the closet most of the time—except when he emerges
from the closets of others.
