My name is George Adamczyk and I have known Mr. Sam Schnurr since 1996. I
worked with Mr. Schnurr in a variety of capacities and roles while at ITT (Excelis). I was
initially hired to manage the computer aided design operations in Engineering,
eventually early retired from ITT as Director of Engineering, and currently now consult.
Relations between engineering and manufacturing were weak, with a “throw it over the
wall” mentality. An improvement in execution was only going to be achieved by
establishing a strong interface with a leader who was a visionary and a change agent.
Mr. Schnurr was that person. He was instrumental in driving the change on the
manufacturing side of the business. Mr. Schnurr was always looking to improve
processes and interfaces. His work ethic, positive attitude, knowledge, leadership and
teamwork mentality drove the success of the subsequent changes in the overall design
and build process. I truly believe that we would not have achieved those levels if it were
not for Mr. Schnurr.
