Cluster sampling is a sampling technique where the population is divided into groups or clusters and samples are randomly selected from those clusters. Snowball sampling is where initial subjects are selected from the population and each subject is used to refer other subjects who are then used to refer additional subjects. Both techniques are used when a complete sampling frame is not available and samples are selected from existing clusters or networks of subjects.
