Salt River Project (SRP), one of the largest power utilities in the U.S., created a smart building "incubator" by renovating an 85,000 square foot building next to their headquarters to serve as a model for energy efficiency best practices. SRP installed Crestron Fusion automation software to integrate and monitor lighting, HVAC, security, and other building systems with the goals of achieving LEED Gold certification and making the building smarter and a better workplace. Data collected from the building showed that small changes like increasing the cooling setpoint by 1 degree produced significant energy savings without negatively impacting employees.
