3. SAFETY RULES:
You are responsible for your own
safety and safety of others.
Always use
equipment/tools/machinery safely
and properly.
Keep your work area clean.
4. Wear appropriate and safe work clothing and footwear.
Report any unsafe conditions.
Clean up spills immediately.
Report all injuries.
No alcohol or drugs to be used or allowed in lab.
5. SAFETY PRECAUTIONS:
You must wearing shoes while working in
the laboratory.
While working on voltages i.e. greater
than 30v, you must consult with the
laboratory staff.
6. Do not assemble or disassemble
components with wet hands. It can
short the whole circuit.
Double check circuits for proper
connections and polarity before
applying the electric power.
7. Do not over load the extension switch
plugged in the socket. It may damage
the socket.
Fire extinguisher must be used in case of
fire to save the person &laboratory
equipment.
8. Do not touch a person being
electrocuted! If possible, turn off
the power or use a piece of
insulated material to help the
person.
Use emergency doors to exit, in
case of any accident like fire,
dangerous smoke due to
burning etc. in the laboratory.
9. You must know emergency phone numbers,
i.e.
university doctor, Ambulance, Rescue
etc.
You must know the location of main switch of
the electronics laboratory.
10. You must not be wearing iron
chain, ring or any other
metallic item while performing
experiment.
Observe polarity when
connecting polarized
components or test equipment
into a circuit.
11. Keep the intensity of oscilloscope
as low as possible while using it
and all the time down when not in
use to save the screen from
burning.
Proper earthing of electronic
equipment is necessary to avoid
shock or any other lab accident.
12. Use wire stripper or cutters for
stripping or cutting the wire rather
than using your teeth.
Do not use cell phone in the lab. It
may loose your concentration
leading to poor/wrong results for
your work.
