This document presents a speaker verification algorithm using Oguma histograms that requires less computation than traditional vector quantization methods. The algorithm involves calculating histograms from feature vectors extracted from speech samples rather than vector quantization. Speech samples from 10 speakers were analyzed to generate reference and test histograms for verification. Results showed the Oguma histogram approach achieved good speaker verification performance, especially with higher dimensional histograms, making it suitable for applications on devices with limited computing power like smartphones.
