Yom Kippur is the Jewish Day of Atonement that is celebrated on the 10th day of the 7th month of Tishri in the Jewish calendar. It is a day for fasting for 25 hours from before sunset on the eve of Yom Kippur until after nightfall to seek forgiveness for sins committed in the past year and allow God to inscribe one's fate for the coming year.
