Sir Ranulph Fiennes is a British explorer born in 1944 who attended Sandroyd School and Wiltshire. He was the first person to visit both the North and South Poles and spent the longest time on foot in Antarctica. In 2009 at age 65, he reached the summit of Mount Everest.
