About the Author
Michael L. Scott is a professor and past chair of the Department of Computer Sci-
ence at the University of Rochester. He received his Ph.D. in computer sciences in
1985 from the University of Wisconsin–Madison. From 2014–2015 he was a Vis-
iting Scientist at Google. His research interests lie at the intersection of program-
ming languages, operating systems, and high-level computer architecture, with an
emphasis on parallel and distributed computing. His MCS mutual exclusion lock,
co-designed with John Mellor-Crummey, is used in a variety of commercial and
academic systems. Several other algorithms, co-designed with Maged Michael,
Bill Scherer, and Doug Lea, appear in the java.util.concurrent standard li-
brary. In 2006 he and Dr. Mellor-Crummey shared the ACM SIGACT/SIGOPS
Edsger W. Dijkstra Prize in Distributed Computing.

The document presents a comparative study of staircase models with various support conditions using STAAD.Pro software. Six different support types for the staircase slab are modeled and analyzed. Bending moments and deflections are calculated and compared graphically at critical locations for each support type. The results show that support conditions have a significant impact on the structural behavior of the staircase slab. Support types that involve the landing slab being supported on its edges parallel to the flight direction experience substantial restraint effects. While the analysis provides insight, experimental validation is recommended to better understand the true structural behavior of staircases under different support conditions. This document presents a comparative study of the behavior of staircases with various support conditions using the STAAD.Pro finite element analysis software. Six different support configurations (CASE I to CASE VI) for a doglegged staircase model are analyzed to determine bending moments and deflections. The results show variations in moments and deflections at critical locations along the stair slab. It is found that stair slabs behave differently depending on the support arrangement and that specifications in design codes may not apply uniformly to all configurations. Additional supporting arrangements provide significant restraint. However, experimental validation is needed to better understand the true behavior of staircases under different support conditions.

Abstract. Generative adversarial networks (GANs) are one of the most popular models capable of producing high-quality images. However, most of the works generate images from the vector of random values, without explicit control of desired output properties. We study the ways of introducing such control for the user-selected region of interest (RoI). First, we overview and analyze the existing works in areas of image completion (inpainting) and controllable generation. Second, we propose our model based on GANs, which united approaches from the two mentioned areas, for the controllable local content generation. About the Author
Michael L. Scott is a professor and past chair of the Department of Computer Sci-
ence at the University of Rochester. He received his Ph.D. in computer sciences in
1985 from the University of Wisconsin–Madison. From 2014–2015 he was a Vis-
iting Scientist at Google. His research interests lie at the intersection of program-
ming languages, operating systems, and high-level computer architecture, with an
emphasis on parallel and distributed computing. His MCS mutual exclusion lock,
co-designed with John Mellor-Crummey, is used in a variety of commercial and
academic systems. Several other algorithms, co-designed with Maged Michael,
Bill Scherer, and Doug Lea, appear in the java.util.concurrent standard li-
brary. In 2006 he and Dr. Mellor-Crummey shared the ACM SIGACT/SIGOPS
Edsger W. Dijkstra Prize in Distributed Computing.
Dr. Scott is a Fellow of the Association for Computing Machinery, a Fellow of
the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers, and a member of Usenix, the

IRJET- Comparative Study of Staircase with Various Support Conditions using S...
The document presents a comparative study of staircase models with various support conditions using STAAD.Pro software. Six different support types for the staircase slab are modeled and analyzed. Bending moments and deflections are calculated and compared graphically at critical locations for each support type. The results show that support conditions have a significant impact on the structural behavior of the staircase slab. Support types that involve the landing slab being supported on its edges parallel to the flight direction experience substantial restraint effects. While the analysis provides insight, experimental validation is recommended to better understand the true structural behavior of staircases under different support conditions. Design considerations for three support types are also proposed based on the analytical findings.
IRJET- Predicting Filed H1-B Visa Petitions Status
This document presents a comparative study of the behavior of staircases with various support conditions using the STAAD.Pro finite element analysis software. Six different support configurations (CASE I to CASE VI) for a doglegged staircase model are analyzed to determine bending moments and deflections. The results show variations in moments and deflections at critical locations along the stair slab. It is found that stair slabs behave differently depending on the support arrangement and that specifications in design codes may not apply uniformly to all configurations. Additional supporting arrangements provide significant restraint. However, experimental validation is needed to better understand the true behavior of staircases under different support conditions.

Abstract. Generative adversarial networks (GANs) are one of the most popular models capable of producing high-quality images. However, most of the works generate images from the vector of random values, without explicit control of desired output properties. We study the ways of introducing such control for the user-selected region of interest (RoI). First, we overview and analyze the existing works in areas of image completion (inpainting) and controllable generation. Second, we propose our model based on GANs, which united approaches from the two mentioned areas, for the controllable local content generation. Third, we evaluate the controllability of our model on three accessible datasets – Celeba, Cats, and Cars – and give numerical and visual results of our method.Final Exam Questions Fall03
