Run + Outdoor Society: In 2014, it was decided by Engagement to merge these two OUTDOORSY communities. Well, it made sense as these two are quite related to each other.
It’s NOT just a community for Runners or Mountaineers. The name may suggest it or the most frequent activities before may give people that idea, but we are not just for Runners or Mountaineers. We are open to activities that will help [24]7 employees explore the outdoors, socialize and stay engaged in the company.
2. There’s no fitness requirement. Since we have various activities, a fitness requirement is not something that we prioritize. We’re all about giiving every member a chance to have fun, learn and feel safe when participating in our activities. We have collaborated with other communities in activities that do not require a fitness requirement. Examples are:
a. Design for Awareness with Media Masters
b. Volunteerism
The only time that we’ll require a fitness requirement is when community members engage in activities that are physically challenging like a marathon, trek, climb, etc.
3. There’s no link between us and the Rain or Shine team. Yes, we always get the response from people. But we have no affiliation or connection with that Basketball team. But we do like the thought that we do have fun RAIN or SHINE!
4. It’s not just for Outdoorsy people. We are here to share these activities with YOU who’s curious and, perhaps, just shy to join others in trips or activities. What better place to build new friendships than in our 2nd home, which is here in [24]7!
Discuss the elements in the ROS logo:
With the creation of ROS, we want to change the perception of [24]7 employees that it’s JUST for mountaineers or runners.
Therefore, when I designed and created the logo, I made sure that there weren’t any apparent icons, shapes or symbols that connotes such.
Elements:
Shapes:
1. Box: a Shape that means Balance, Community, Direction, Basics (whats-your-sign.com)
2. Triangle: Depending on the orientation of a triangle, it can mean: stability or (pointing upwards), versatility (pointing downwards).
3. Using these shapes, they make up the initials of ROS.
4. At the center are seemingly senseless shapes but actually mean something. The white zigzag shape represents Water and the Mountains. The foreground, which is a combination of triangles and squares arranged in a certain manner, shows a person Running or Walking or Hiking.
Colors:
1. At the center is the [24]7 Orange. Everything that we do is grounded in the company values.
Orange: Radiates warmth and happiness. We are here to help keep [24]7 employees engaged and we want to radiate that positive energy in every activity that we have.
Black: Self-control and discipline. To maintain the balance, we make sure that we act in the right manner in all of our activities as we represent [24]7.
White: Openness and creativity. We are open to anyone who’s interested to participate and even lead an activity. Our community is not just about having fun but also opening opportunities for [24]7 employees to get to know themselves more.
