Romulus and Remus founded Rome but fought over its name, with Romulus ultimately killing Remus and naming the city Rome. Roman soldiers trained hard, marching 25 miles daily in heavy armor and using tortoise formations to protect themselves from attacks. Romans enjoyed spectacles like gladiator fights in the Colosuem and executions, dining out before attending such violent entertainments in the amphitheater. They also socialized in public baths, washing with oil.
