Make smooth in the desert a highway for our God. 4 "Let
every valley be lifted up, And every mountain and hill be
made low; And let the rough ground become a plain, And the
rugged terrain a broad valley; 5 Then the glory of the LORD
will be revealed, And all flesh will see it together; For the
mouth of the LORD has spoken.”

Let's read Romans 1:18-23
Romans 1:18, “the wrath of God"
against evolutionists
• NAU Romans 1:18 For the wrath of God is revealed
from heaven against all ungodliness and
unrighteousness of men who suppress the truth in
unrighteousness,
• Evolution teachers are in big trouble! It is not just
another theory of creation. Teaching that
everything and everyone came into existence from
no one and no thing is suppressing the truth that is
evident in creation and logic. The law of cause and
effect demands our creator must be very great, and
personal. Luis Pasteur proved that life does not 7
Romans 1:18, “suppress"
• Romans 1:18 …men who suppress the truth…
• Only NAU use of “suppress.” Rather than suppress the
truth, they should have suppressed their evil desires.
• Benjamin Franklin said, “Tis easier to suppress the first
desire, than to satisfy all that follow it.”
• NAU Romans 1:27 …men ….burned in their desire toward
one another, men with men committing indecent acts…
• NAU Galatians 5:16 But I say, walk by the Spirit, and you will
not carry out the desire of the flesh.
• NAU Colossians 3:5 …passion, evil desire, and greed, which
amounts to idolatry.

Romans 1:18, suppress the truth
• Dave Hunt wrote, “Rejecting the truth God has revealed to
everyone, man perverts the witness of creation and conscience
and creates his own gods. The very appeal of the "Star Wars
Force" or some "higher power" is that a force, being
impersonal, cannot hold one morally accountable but, like
atomic power, can be used by man to his own ends. Clearly,
God has to be a personal Being to create and relate to
mankind. The Bible gives the factual account of Lucifer's
rebellion in heaven itself and how Eve believed the lie that she,
too, could become one of the gods. To this day that lie remains
the great hope and motivation of mankind. The remainder of
the Bible is a recital of the devastating consequences of that
rebellion, and the working out of God's plan to restore
mankind into the "new heaven and...new earth" (Rev 21:1)
which He has planned in His love and grace.”"
• -- Dave Hunt, "Justice and Justification," The Berean Call, Feb. 1, 2002
Romans 1:18, The Creation
• Thomas Merton said, “Creation had been given to
men as a clean window through which the light of
God could shine into men’s souls. Sun and moon,
night and day, rain, the sea, the crops, the
flowering tree, all these things were
transparent. They spoke to man not of
themselves only but of Him who made
them. Nature was symbolic. But the progressive
degradation of man after the fall led the Gentiles
further and further from this truth. Nature
became opaque.”
Romans 1:19-20
Humans Are Without Excuse
• NAU Romans 1:19 because that which is known about
God is evident within them; for God made it evident to
them. 20 For since the creation of the world His
invisible attributes, His eternal power and divine
nature, have been clearly seen, being understood
through what has been made, so that they are without
excuse. 21 For even though they knew God, they did
not honor Him as God or give thanks, but they became
futile in their speculations, and their foolish heart was
darkened [passive].
Romans 1:20
The Lord Hardened Pharaoh's Heart
• Ex 9:12, 10:1, 10:20+27…the Lord hardened Pharaoh's
heart…
• Ex 14:8…The Lord hardened the heart…
• NAU Exodus 8:32 But Pharaoh hardened his heart this
time also…
• Heb 3:8 do not harden your hearts as you did in the
rebellion, during the time of testing in the desert…
• Heb 3:13 But encourage one another daily… so that none
of you may be hardened by sin's deceitfulness.
• The Lord, we, and sin's deceitfulness can harden our
hearts. We must guard against becoming callused to sin.
• NAU 1 Timothy 4:2 …seared in their own conscience as
with a branding iron,
Romans 1:20, The Theistic
Evolution Is Not Biblical
• NAU Romans 1:20 For since the creation of the world
His invisible attributes,…have been clearly seen, being
understood…
• Humans have seen and understood since “since the
creation of the world”
• NAU Luke 11:50…since the foundation of the world,
may be charged against this generation, 51 from the
blood of Abel to the blood of Zechariah…
• NAU Mark 10:6 "But from the beginning of creation,
God MADE THEM MALE AND FEMALE.
• 2 Peter 3:6, 1 Corinthians 15:47, 1 Timothy 2:13, 2 Corinthians 11:3, Acts 3:21

God Is Clearly Seen In Nature
• Romans 1:20 …His eternal power and divine
nature, have been clearly seen…
• Nature is too thin a screen; the glory of the
omnipresent God bursts through everywhere.

No Excuses
• Kimberly Johnson has said, “Never ruin an

Special / General Revelation Revelation
• “General revelation and special revelation are the two ways God has
chosen to reveal Himself to humanity. General revelation refers to the
general truths that can be known about God through nature. Special
revelation refers to the more specific truths that can be known about
God through the supernatural.
• In regard to general revelation, Psalm 19:1-4 declares, “The heavens
declare the glory of God; the skies proclaim the work of His hands. Day
after day they pour forth speech; night after night they display
knowledge. There is no speech or language where their voice is not
heard. Their voice goes out into all the earth, their words to the ends of
the world.” According to this passage, God’s existence and power can
be clearly seen through observing the universe. The order, intricacy, and
wonder of creation speak to the existence of a powerful and glorious
Creator. …perhaps a working definition of general revelation would be
“the revelation of God to all people, at all times, and in all places that
proves that God exists and that He is intelligent, powerful, and
transcendent.”
Romans 1:20, GotQuestions.org
Special / General Revelation
• Special revelation is how God has chosen to reveal Himself through
miraculous means. Special revelation includes physical
appearances of God, dreams, visions, the written Word of God, and
most importantly—Jesus Christ. The Bible records God appearing in
physical form many times (Genesis 3:8, 18:1; Exodus 3:1-4, 34:5-7),
and the Bible records God speaking to people through dreams
(Genesis 28:12, 37:5; 1 Kings 3:5; Daniel 2) and visions (Genesis
15:1; Ezekiel 8:3-4; Daniel 7; 2 Corinthians 12:1-7).
• Of primary importance in the revealing of God is His Word, the
Bible, which is also a form of special revelation. …God determined
to have the truth regarding Him recorded in written form because
He knew the inaccuracy and unreliability of oral tradition. …The
ultimate form of special revelation is the Person of Jesus Christ.
God became a human being (John 1:1, 14). Hebrews 1:1-3
summarizes it best, “In the past God spoke to our forefathers
through the prophets at many times and in various ways, but in
these last days he has spoken to us by his Son … Jesus Christ is the
ultimate “special revelation” from God.

They Did Not Give Thanks
• “…In her book, The Hiding Place, Corrie Ten Boom tells the story of a
time when she and her sister were in a concentration camp in Germany
during the Holocaust. When they were thrown into a bunkhouse that
was infected with fleas, her sister remembered that they needed to
give thanks in all circumstances―even for the fleas. But Corrie said it
was too much. She said, “There’s no way even God can make me
grateful for a flea.”
• But as the weeks went on, she discovered that the women in her
barracks were being given an unusual amount of freedom. They could
read to each other from a Bible they had hidden, and they could pray
with one another. One day they discovered why when Betsy
overheard the guards say that they wouldn’t step foot into their
barracks. Why not? “That place is crawling with fleas!” the guard said.
It was then that Corrie remembered her sister’s prayers of thanks even
for the fleas….” 19

Romans 1:30, Honor Father And Mother
• “Question: "What does it mean to honor my father and
mother?"
Answer: Honoring your father and mother is being
respectful in word and action and having an inward attitude
of esteem for their position. The Greek word for honor
means “to revere, prize, and value.” Honor is giving respect
not only for merit but also for rank. For example, some
Americans may disagree with the President’s decisions, but
they should still respect his position as leader of their
country. Similarly, children of all ages should honor their
parents, regardless of whether or not their parents
“deserve” honor….”

1 Kings 16:29-30 Luke 12:47 -48
Romans 1, 2 Chronicles 33:9, Evil Rulers
• The Christ in Prophecy Journal
• The 2012 Election
• Posted: 09 Jan 2013 06:56 AM PST
• By Dr. David R. Reagan
• At the death of King Solomon, the Kingdom of David split into two nations — Israel in the north, consisting of ten tribes, and Judah in the south, composed of two tribes.
• The northern kingdom of Israel lasted 208 years. During that time it had a total of 19 kings, all of whom were judged by God to be evil.
• The southern kingdom of Judah existed for 344 years. That kingdom had a total of 20 kings, and only 8 of them were considered good in the eyes of God.
• Despite the fact that all the kings of Israel were judged to be evil in the eyes of God, the Scriptures declare that one in particular was the most evil of all — and that was King Ahab (1 Kings 16:29-30). In like manner, the Scriptures proclaim that the most evil king
in the history of Judah was Manasseh who "seduced Judah and the inhabitants of Jerusalem to do more evil than the nations whom the Lord had destroyed before the children of Israel" (2 Chronicles 33:9).
• The Quality of American Leaders
• It would be interesting to know God's judgment of the leaders of our nation. We have been blessed with some truly good and great leaders like George Washington, Abraham Lincoln, Theodore Roosevelt, Harry Truman, Dwight Eisenhower, and Ronald Reagan.
But, like Israel and Judah, we have been cursed from time to time by some very poor leaders, particularly in modern times as our nation has drifted away from God and from the Judeo-Christian principles upon which the nation was established.
• We have had womanizers like John F. Kennedy and schemers like Lyndon Johnson. We have had inept leaders like Jimmy Carter and Gerald Ford. And we have been afflicted with evil leaders like Richard Nixon, who was forced to resign before he was
impeached, and Bill Clinton, who was actually impeached, but not convicted.
• But I would contend that never in all our 236 years as a nation have we had a ruler as evil as Barack Obama.
• The Evil of Barack Obama
• Obama is an enthusiastic advocate of abortion — even to the point that while serving as state senator in Illinois, he voted against a law that would have prevented the killing of babies who survived abortions!
• Obama is an earnest supporter of sexual perversion. During his first four years as President, he issued a proclamation each June celebrating lesbians, homosexuals, bi-sexuals, and transgenders. And, of course, he has endorsed the abomination of same-sex
marriage.
• Obama has committed the immoral act of plunging our nation into unprecedented debt that will imprison our descendants indefinitely.
• Obama has launched an unthinkable attack on our religious traditions and freedoms. If he could get his way, and he may well do so, he will remove "under God" from our pledge of allegiance and replace our national motto, "In God We Trust," with "E Pluribus
Unum." He no longer speaks of "freedom of religion." It has been replaced with "freedom of worship." And he is attempting to override religious freedom with hate crime laws and non-discrimination laws in an attempt to make it a criminal offence to condemn
sexual perversion or to discriminate on the basis of sexual perversion. He has attempted to control hiring practices by religious organizations, and he is now trying to dictate that they must provide contraceptives and abortions for their employees.
• Obama has attacked our Constitution repeatedly as being "outdated." He has circumvented it in every way possible, particularly through an avalanche of executive orders. And he will succeed in undermining it completely if he is able to make additional
appointments to the Supreme Court during his second term.
• Obama hates the Capitalist system which is a foundation stone of our liberties and which has produced the most prosperous economy the world has ever seen. He is determined to replace it with a Socialist system that will rob the responsible to award the
irresponsible.
• Obama despises our great history of pioneering liberty and justice for all citizens and fighting worldwide to provide or preserve freedom for other peoples. He has denounced our nation's anthem as "militaristic," and he has portrayed us to the world as a
colonialist power, apologizing for the foreign policy that saved Europe from the Nazis and rebuilt the continent through the Marshall Plan.
• Obama holds in contempt our closest ally, the nation of Israel. He has treated the Jewish Prime Minister with contempt, and he has encouraged the enemies of Israel who desire to annihilate the Jewish state.
• One of Obama's passions throughout his life has been education. He understands the power of this tool to re-shape a nation. Expect him in his second term to try to nationalize education so that he can dictate curriculum from the federal level. And expect him
also to launch an all-out assault on home schooling.
• America's Revolt Against God
• In my book, America the Beautiful? The United States in Bible Prophecy (2003, 2006, 2009), I pointed out that when a nation begins to rebel against God, He will start afflicting that nation with remedial judgments, calling the nation to repentance. I showed
from the Scriptures that those judgments can take many forms, and that one of those is to give the nation the kind of leaders it deserves.
• Our headstrong revolt against God began in the 1960's with the sexual revolution that was laced with drugs. It has continued unabated since that time as we have kicked God out of our schools and our public life. In the process, Christianity has morphed into
the image of our increasingly secular and pagan society, desiring to be accepted by society rather than standing against it by speaking out in behalf of godliness and righteousness.
• And so, we are now reaping what we have sown. And we will continue to do so as long as we put selfish considerations ahead of moral ones — as, for example:
• When Black Christians vote on the basis of race regardless of the candidate's moral values.
• When Christian union members vote according to union directives rather than moral principles.
• When Jews vote solely according to liberal social values, with no consideration of a candidate's position regarding Israel.
• When Evangelicals vote on the basis of personality, charisma and oratorical ability rather than moral issues.
• When the populace in general puts income considerations ahead of moral values.
• The Significance of Morality
• Why am I emphasizing moral issues? The reason is simple. It's because they are the real issues. In this past election the real issues were not the economy and unemployment. The real issues were spiritual in nature. They were the celebration of sexual
perversion, the trashing of the value of life, the elevation of greed over responsibility, and the abandonment of support for the nation of Israel. These were the true issues because our collective failure in these areas is the precise reason why we are
experiencing the collapse of our economy and subsequent massive unemployment.
• Our nation is under the judgment of God. In response, He has provided us the kind of leadership we deserve.
• In my Prophetic Manifesto, issued before the election, I began it with these words: "America is finished. We as a nation have turned our back on God." I concluded the Manifesto with this observation:
• Is there any hope for America? No! Our only hope is Jesus, and thus we have no hope, for we have rejected Him. We have turned our back on the very God who made us great and showered us with blessings. We have forgotten that God's Word teaches
that "to those to whom much is given, much is expected." (Luke 12:47 -48).

• We all could do without bad news, but unfortunately we have to deal with
unwelcome reports—from doctors, brokers, realtors, employers, and
prospective employers. Everybody has received—or will receive—bad news
during life’s pilgrimage. Thankfully, bad news is not the whole story.
Interspersed with unwelcome, unsettling news we have received news that
has been uplifting and elating. Paul's letter to the Romans presents the worst
of news and the best of news, to paraphrase a well-known line. The worst of
news is that all people are helpless and hopeless under sin’s tyranny; the best
of news is that more-than-adequate grace is available for rescue and right

Deuteronomy 9:4, OT Righteousness
Was By Obedience To God's Law
• NAU Deuteronomy 9:4 "Do not say in your heart when the
LORD your God has driven them out before you, 'Because of
my righteousness the LORD has brought me in to possess this
land,' but it is because of the wickedness of these nations that
the LORD is dispossessing them before you. 5 "It is not for
your righteousness or for the uprightness of your heart that
you are going to possess their land, but it is because of the
wickedness of these nations that the LORD your God is driving
them out before you, in order to confirm the oath which the
LORD swore to your fathers, to Abraham, Isaac and Jacob. 6
"Know, then, it is not because of your righteousness that the
LORD your God is giving you this good land to possess, for you
are a stubborn people.

He has recompensed me. 22 "For I have kept the ways of the
LORD, And have not acted wickedly against my God. 23 "For
all His ordinances were before me; And as for His statutes, I
did not depart from them. 24 "I was also blameless toward
Him, And I kept myself from my iniquity. 25 "Therefore the
LORD has recompensed me according to my righteousness,
According to my cleanness before His eyes. 26 "With the kind
Thou dost show Thyself kind, With the blameless Thou dost
show Thyself blameless; 27 With the pure Thou dost show
Thyself pure, And with the perverted Thou dost show Thyself
astute. 52

He commanded us.
• Yet, as sinners their righteousness was alien to
them, a foreign righteousness, which was
imputed to them by God because they believed
God, as evidenced by the fact that they kept His
commandments.
• God was going to destroy the inhabitants of the

Christ’s Obedience To God's Law
• No one from Adam to the new heavens and new earth,
will ever be or has ever been saved by anything other than
God’s grace, through the shed blood of Jesus Christ.

bulls and goats to take away sins. 5 Therefore, when He
comes into the world, He says, "Sacrifice and offering
Thou hast not desired, But a body Thou hast prepared for
Me; 6 In whole burnt offerings and sacrifices for sin Thou

to their pasture; and they will be fruitful and multiply. 4 "I shall also raise up
shepherds over them and they will tend them; and they will not be afraid
any longer, nor be terrified, nor will any be missing," declares the LORD. 5
"Behold, the days are coming," declares the LORD, "When I shall raise up
for David a righteous Branch; And He will reign as king and act wisely And
do justice and righteousness in the land. 6 "In His days Judah will be saved,
And Israel will dwell securely; And this is His name by which He will be

issues they take a different view. A few other
places I thought they were both a little weak.

Romans 1:18-23, The Greatest Mass
Murderer Of All Time, TODAY'S CREATION MOMENT
• Who do you think was the greatest mass murderer the world has ever seen? Adolf Hitler? Not
even close. According to Creation Moments Board Chairman Mark Cadwallader, the greatest mass
murderer was China's Mao Tse Tung. During his political reign, Mao was responsible for murdering
77 million people while enforcing his "Great Leap Forward", and he "purged" millions more during
what he called "The Cultural Revolution".
• Mao Tse Tung at Joseph Stalin's 70th birthday celebration in 1949.Interestingly, Mao is reported
to have said the following: "Chinese socialism is founded upon Darwin and the theory of
evolution." Now, who's the runner-up to Mao? No, it's still not Hitler. The second greatest mass
murderer was Joseph Stalin, who similarly saw the value of evolution to his plans for a collectivist
state. He used purges, starvation and prison camps to force people out of their own property and
into acceptance of the ideology where God is replaced by government. He was responsible for the
murder of up to 40 million people.
• The presumption that evolution is a scientific fact, disproving God and validating the philosophy of
"might makes right", has justified terrible atrocities in the post-Darwin twentieth century.
• Darwinism isn't just responsible for the physical death of millions, it has led to the spiritual death
of many millions of people who prefer to live in a universe where God does not exist. Thankfully,
God is opening the eyes of many to the truth found in the pages of the Bible – that we are not the
product of evolution but were created by God.

Malachi 2:17 Romans 1:18-23, Innocent
Native, God Of Justice
• NAU Malachi 2:17 You have wearied the LORD with your words. Yet you say, "How have we wearied Him?" In that you say,
"Everyone who does evil is good in the sight of the LORD, and He delights in them," or, "Where is the God of justice?"
• QUESTION FOR THE DAY
• Dear Compass,
• Our church has a very strong mission focus and program. I was recently reading in our church mission literature that they
believe roughly 40% of the world's population are not aware of Jesus Christ nor have heard the Gospel. I pray for these
people, but I struggle that God would condemn them and not save them when they are not even aware of His Son and what
He did for us. I am having a hard time understanding this in light of our forgiving God.
•
ANSWER:
• The Israelites asked the same question:
• You have wearied the LORD with your words. Yet you say, "How have we wearied Him?" In that you say, "Everyone who does
evil is good in the sight of the LORD, and He delights in them," or, "Where is the God of justice?" —Malachi 2:17 God is a
loving God but also a God of justice. It's a fact that we all have sinned and deserve death.
• for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God —Romans 3:23Therefore, just as through one man sin entered into the
world, and death through sin, and so death spread to all men, because all sinned —Romans 5:12
• But the righteous God of the universe loved His creation so much that He came and paid the price of sin (death), for all who,
by faith, trust in His shed blood on Calvary.
• For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish, but have
eternal life. For God did not send the Son into the world to judge the world, but that the world should be saved through
Him. —John 3:16-17So really, it's not that some people will burn in hell for eternity, it's that any of us escape at all!

• "And he answered and said unto them, Have ye not read, that he which made them at the beginning made them male and female, And said, For this
cause shall a man leave father and mother, and shall cleave to his wife: and they twain shall be one flesh?"
• With the creation of Adam and Eve, God also created the marriage relationship and blessed it. God knows how we are made. He knows how we work.
And He had all that in mind when He designed the marriage relationship. For this reason, one would expect that trying to fashion a family by simply
living together would result in less happiness than when properly married.
Numerous studies have shown the results of couples living together without the benefit of marriage. One 1992 study, conducted by a group based at
Rutgers University, showed that even cohabitors who eventually got married had a 46 percent greater chance of divorce than those who had begun in
a proper marriage relationship. A more recent study by a Bowling Green University researcher measured and compared the depression scores
between married couples and cohabitors. Married people had an average depression score of 13.3, while cohabitors showed a higher depression score
of 17.2.
Cohabiting is even worse for the children. Thirty six percent of the children born to cohabitors who later married will see their parents divorce. Only
one third of the children born to married people will see their parents divorce. It is clear that in His love for us, God designed marriage for our
happiness and blessing.
• Prayer:
• We thank You, dear Father, for the gift of marriage. Bless and strengthen marriage among us. In Jesus' Name. Amen.

Perfect Design In Creation

• “THE MOST PERFECT DESIGN I’VE EVER SEEN”
• inAnimals
• Listen
• Psalm 107:24
• “These see the works of the LORD, and his wonders in the deep.”
• “The most perfect design I’ve ever seen.” Those words were uttered by a materials engineer after studying a deep sea
sponge from the Pacific Ocean. And, indeed, the Euplectella aspergillun, claimed to be an early and primitive sponge, can
teach modern materials engineers a number of useful things.
• The sponge’s body is made up of a thin layer of cells over an intricate glass skeleton. The sponge grows into a cylindrical
shape about 8 inches long and about an inch across. The wonder lies in the glass skeleton that is made up of vertical and
horizontal beams of glass. Diagonal beams strengthen this grid. One-third of these beams are thicker than the others, adding
the extra strength of ridges to the cylinder. What’s more, each of these glass beams is made up of small cylinders of glass
glued together with more glass-like tree rings. The result is a structure that spreads the pressures that might crush an
ordinary glass structure this size. It is a delicate looking, but nearly unbreakable, glass structure.
• In a less-than-scientific test, one researcher noted that one has to jump full weight on one of these cylinders to even produce
any cracking, and such jumping will still not break it. “The most perfect design I’ve ever seen,” said the researcher. There’s
little that we at Creation Moments can add to that.
• Prayer:
• Father, I thank You for all Your wonders, the greatest of which is Your love in forgiving me for Jesus’ sake. Amen.

Romans 1:20, What is the difference between
created and made?, by Matt Slick
• The difference between something being created and something being made is that when something is created it is
brought into existence out of nothing. But, when something is made it has been formed out of something else that
already exists. So, when God created the heavens and the earth (Genesis 1:1), he did not form them out of something
that already existed. Instead, he brought them into existence when there was no existence beforehand.
• However, God made man out of the dust of the ground. He formed man out of that which already existed, the ground.
• "Then the LORD God formed man of dust from the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man
became a living being," (Genesis 2:7).
• "Then God said, “Let Us make man in Our image, according to Our likeness; and let them rule over the fish of the sea and
over the birds of the sky and over the cattle and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creeps on the
earth." 27 God created man in His own image, in the image of God He created him; male and female He created them.
28 God blessed them; and God said to them, “Be fruitful and multiply, and fill the earth, and subdue it; and rule over the
fish of the sea and over the birds of the sky and over every living thing that moves on the earth,'" (Genesis 1:26-28).
• In addition, and to make our actions performed upon something else. In other words, something does not bring itself
into existence and something does not make itself.
• In the context of God's work, his creating the heavens and the earth reveals his great power and ability. When you
consider the incredibly vast expanse of the universe, the billions of galaxies and the billions of stars in those galaxies,
then you can get a brief glimpse of the incredibly wondrous creative power and ability of God. I say brief glimpse
because we cannot possibly comprehend the expanse of the universe in God's creative work associated with it.
• When you consider that God has the ability to take matter and form it into other things, like a human being, then you
should be struck by the incredible ability of God to form basic elements and molecules into incredibly complex
information structures found in DNA that make life possible.

Romans 1:18-20, 8:29-30, Called Or Drawn
By God, gracethrufaith.com
• Who Does The Father Draw? Follow Up
• Wednesday, January 8th, 2014Salvation
• Q. Concerning “Who Does the Father Draw?”…I totally agree with you except for the part that God doesn’t call everyone. I believe He does, either
through hearing the Word or through observation of creation (Romans 1:18-20; Psalm 19:1-4; Job 12:7-12). Also John 12:32 says “When I am lifted up I
will draw all men unto Myself”. I truly believe that every lost person has been drawn by the Holy Spirit at some point in their lives, probably several
times, but continued to reject that calling. Therefore, at the Great White Throne judgment no lost person will be able to accuse God that He isn’t fair
because He never called them. Actually, I think we are in agreement that people send themselves to eternal judgment and that they did indeed have a
choice.
• A. Like you, I believe the door to salvation is open to everyone during their lifetime. We know that God wants everyone to be saved (2 Peter 3:9) and
Paul said everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved (Romans 10:13). My point in saying God only calls those who he knows will
respond comes fromRomans 8:29-30.
• “For those God foreknew he also predestined to be conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brothers and sisters.
And those he predestined, he also called; those he called, he also justified; those he justified, he also glorified.”
• Notice there’s no fallout between any of the steps from foreknowledge to glorification. The ones He foreknew He predestined. The ones He
predestined He called. The ones He called He justified, and the ones He justified He glorified. The process begins with God, who knows the end from
the beginning, seeing in advance those who will become His. And everyone who enters the process completes it. Based on that, it would seem that if
He were to call everyone, then everyone would be saved.
• But as we know that’s not the case. Therefore, I can only conclude that there must be a difference between being drawn by the Holy Spirit and being
called by God. It must be that although the Holy Spirit draws all men, some harden their hearts against this and resist. At the GWT judgment I believe
those who resisted unto death will be enabled to recall all the times in their life when this happened, until finally their hearts became too hard to
penetrate. This will show them to be without excuse.
• After years of study I’ve become fully persuaded that each of us controls our own destiny where our salvation is concerned. Otherwise God is neither
fair nor just.

Rom. 1:19-20
A Biblical Defense of the Faith
• A Biblical Defense of the Faith
• Written by Jason Hauser.
• Have you ever considered how biblical your approach is to handling objections when you witness for Christ? It doesn't help that a great majority of apologetical resources encourage unbiblical methods. Whether the
individual you engage is a skeptic or a false convert, they need to be confronted with the depravity of their sin, the authority of God's Word and the exclusivity of Christ. This is because their positions are the same and their
objections are similar. They are both without Christ and they both appeal to their own authority to justify how they live.
• Do such individuals need to be given better evidences to refute their objections? Do they simply lack a few key proofs that Jesus is Lord and Savior? Or does such an approach perpetuate a false notion that they are the
judge and God is on trial? Nowhere in Scripture do we find Jesus or His disciples giving more evidence for what skeptics reject. The biblical model begins with the fact that man is "without excuse" because "what can be
known about God is plain to him, because God has shown it to them" in His creation (Rom. 1:19-20). Despite man having this inherent truth about God, he suppresses it (Rom.1:18). For this reason, it is not wise to spend
time arguing over evolution, the existence of God, or for that matter, anything opposed to the Bible. If God's Word says it, then it is true. If one rejects His Word, the problem is not a lack of evidence, but an unwillingness
to submit to the authority of God and His Word. For this reason we must defend the faith, not with extra-biblical evidences, but with the Bible alone. This is the best approach because God's infallible Word never returns
void (Isa. 55:11).
• Some Christians compromise and seek a neutral source for truth when someone doesn't respect the Bible. Yet, there is no such thing as neutrality, for each person has their own presuppositions. They are drawn either
from submitting to God's authority or an authority of their own choosing. When someone rejects the supreme authority of God's Word, how can appealing to a lesser authority be of any help (Rom. 10:17; 2 Tim. 3:15-
17; Heb. 4:12)? If an unbeliever wins an argument using an extra-biblical source, they will still need to surrender to Christ's authority for salvation.
• Proverbs 26:4-5 provides a wonderful model for answering objections. It states, "Answer not a fool according to his folly, lest you be like him yourself. Answer a fool according to his folly, lest he be wise in his own eyes."
Verse 4 reveals the importance of responding with truth while verse 5 explains the importance of exposing untruth. In other words, don't answer a skeptic by using his faulty worldview, but rather stay centered on biblical
truth. Show the futility of clinging to anything opposed to God's Word. Also, do not allow the unbeliever to steal components from your biblical worldview such as logic, reason, certainty, or morality, none of which can
exist apart from God.
• As an example, imagine a discussion with a Catholic who believes they are a Christian but has unknowingly rejected the Gospel. First, we should point them to Gospel truth as laid out in God's Word. The conversation might
begin by asking how one hopes to get to heaven. After they have articulated an unbiblical understanding of salvation, ask, "If God's Word said something different would you want to know?" Then show them that they fall
short of God's perfect standard. Show them, that in their sin they must give an account to a holy and just God who cannot overlook sin. Show them their only hope is the Gospel and help them understand that grace, by its
very nature, cannot be earned and that it is by faith and repentance that the sinner is made right with God. Reinforce that to add anything else to this free gift, is an assault on the gift itself (Rom. 11:6). If the Catholic is
humble and interested in the Gospel, then continue to engage them and exhort them to forsake everything else and trust Christ alone. To discern if there is biblical understanding, ask the Catholic about certain Catholic
teachings which oppose the gospel. Look for genuine understanding of biblical truth and repentance of previously held gospel opposed beliefs.
• If however the conversation doesn't even get this far and the gospel message is rejected, then we need to switch gears. We must transition from leading out with the truth (Prov. 26:4), to showing the folly of the untruth
that the unbeliever is currently trusting in (Prov. 26:5). This would involve respectfully but honestly exposing why the Catholic teaching on salvation is problematic. Ask them about their authority and how they know what
they are saying is true. Ask multiple "how" and "why" questions to dig deeper and reveal the root of what they believe and why. At some point it will be exposed that they are either trusting in man blindly or their own
authority. Demonstrate how this is a dangerous path to be on and what Scripture has to say about trusting man (Ps. 118:9,146:3). Discuss why man always drifts to religion when he really needs a saving relationship with
His Lord and Savior. Jesus' discussion with the very religious Nicodemus in John 3 and Paul's testimony of the value of his prior religion in Philippians 3 both would be great texts to make this point. Let them see by way of
analogies from Scripture where they stand and let God's powerful Word bookmark your conversation in their minds.
• When the Gospel is proclaimed biblically and backed up by a strong biblical defense to any objections, then the evangelist further removes them self from the conversation. This allows for the individual to rightly see their
rebellion against a holy God before whom they must one day give an account (Heb. 4:13). Because this defense of the faith rightfully stands on God's Word which is compared to a powerful sword, (Heb. 4:12, Eph. 6:17) we
must be wise in how we use it. With the truth on our side, it is easy to make a fool of the unbeliever and put them in their place. However, doing so demonstrates wrong motives, a proud spirit, and a lack of compassion for
those who are perishing. The apostle Peter reminds believers when they give a defense of the faith to do so with "gentleness and respect" (1 Pet. 3:15). What good is exposing an unbeliever's false worldview if they are so
turned off by your manner that they refuse to listen to you (1 Cor. 13:1)? We must continue to demonstrate our love for the unbeliever and show them that the door is open for them to repent and enter. May we saturate
both our gospel witness and defense of the faith in prayer, that our hearts would be right, that we would stay faithful to God's Word, and He would be glorified.

Would God Send Some Innocent Native In Africa To Hell

• The Existence of God: Without Excuse

• What about those who have never heard the Gospel?
• We asked this question on our television show Christ in Prophecy of Carl Gallups, senior pastor of Hickory Hammock Baptist Church in Milton, Florida, and the author of the best-selling
apologetics book, The Magic Man in the Sky. He is also the founder of the world famous PPSIMMONS YouTube channel and prominent Freedom Friday radio talk show host.
• Those Who Never Heard
• Nathan Jones: There are many huge evidences that prove God's existence for people to use in trying to grow in their faith and dispute the Skeptics. Are there other evidences that people can
know God apart from the Bible then that you'd like to highlight?
• Carl Gallups: You mean, if there are ways that people can come to know God, even if they've never had a Bible?
• Nathan Jones: Yes, they've never had a Bible. They are living in some rainforest somewhere and they've got to come to know God in order to be saved. Is there a way possible?
• Carl Gallups: Yes, and as a matter of fact, I've got a chapter in my book entitled something along the lines of, "But What About Those Who Have Never Heard?"
• Nathan Jones: Yes, that's a huge and complex question people are always asking for an answer to.
• Carl Gallups: So, let's say this happens to a person living in the Amazon that a missionary has never visited nor opened a Bible and read the Gospel to them? That's a wonderful question, but
that question is based upon a couple of false premises. The first that comes to mind, it is based upon the premise that all men are innocent from the beginning and therefore if they don't hear
the Gospel they are sent to Hell, and that somehow is unfair. We know the Word of God says that we are all born into sin in the first place.
• Are their ways that someone can come to an understanding of God apart from the Bible? Well, we know that the preaching of the Gospel is God's main purpose, His main way, His main
design, for men and women and boys and girls to know Him. However, we also know from that Word what Romans 1 says, in that we are all without excuse. The man in the Amazon jungle is
without excuse because of the things that have been created. For, by the things that are made, we know that there is a God and we're not Him.
• Nathan Jones: General Revelation that is called, right?
• Carl Gallups: General Revelation, yes. The complexity of Creation is what we begin with in understanding God apart from the Bible.
• I also think about Moses in the backside of the desert. God set a bush on fire for him and said, "Come here, Moses, I want to talk to you." "Who are you?" Moses asked. God replied, "I am the
Lord."
• The Apostle Paul was on his way to kill Christians in the name of God. While outside the Temple of God the Pharisees were thinking they had done God a favor by crucifying the Son of God.
Paul was a Pharisee, and in just a few years later he was helping to stone Christians. He was on his way to kill more Christians. How's anyone going to reach him for Jesus Christ? Well, the Lord
Jesus appeared to Paul, struck him blind, struck him down on the road. Paul became one of the greatest evangelist and missionary of all time.
• Nathan Jones: That is Special Revelation, which can be considered the opposite of General Revelation?
• Carl Gallups: Yes, indeed, Special Revelation. There are also angelic revelations.
• Here's the bottom line that I come to in my book — God can reach anybody, anytime, anyplace, and anyway He desires because He is God. In the end of all things, we leave reaching the
seemingly unreachable in His hands. Our responsibility is to take the Gospel to the ends of the earth by every means that we have.
• But, for somebody to make the argument, "What about the person who never hears you preach and so that's not fair," well I respond, "God's not limited by our limitations." That's my quick
answer to that complex question.
•
In the nineth segment of our interview with Pastor Carl Gallups concerning the existence of God, he'll answer that difficult question, "How can there be a God with all the evil and suffering in
the world?"
Romans 1:20
Special / General Revelation Revelation
• Question: "What is general revelation and special revelation?"
Answer: General revelation and special revelation are the two ways God has chosen to reveal Himself to humanity. General revelation refers to the general truths that can be known about
God through nature. Special revelation refers to the more specific truths that can be known about God through the supernatural.
In regard to general revelation, Psalm 19:1-4 declares, “The heavens declare the glory of God; the skies proclaim the work of His hands. Day after day they pour forth speech; night after
night they display knowledge. There is no speech or language where their voice is not heard. Their voice goes out into all the earth, their words to the ends of the world.” According to this
passage, God’s existence and power can be clearly seen through observing the universe. The order, intricacy, and wonder of creation speak to the existence of a powerful and glorious
Creator.
General revelation is also taught in Romans 1:20, “For since the creation of the world God's invisible qualities—His eternal power and divine nature—have been clearly seen, being
understood from what has been made, so that men are without excuse.” Like Psalm 19, Romans 1:20 teaches that God’s eternal power and divine nature are “clearly seen” and
“understood” from what has been made, and that there is no excuse for denying these facts. With these Scriptures in mind, perhaps a working definition of general revelation would be
“the revelation of God to all people, at all times, and in all places that proves that God exists and that He is intelligent, powerful, and transcendent.”
Special revelation is how God has chosen to reveal Himself through miraculous means. Special revelation includes physical appearances of God, dreams, visions, the written Word of God,
and most importantly—Jesus Christ. The Bible records God appearing in physical form many times (Genesis 3:8, 18:1; Exodus 3:1-4, 34:5-7), and the Bible records God speaking to people
through dreams (Genesis 28:12, 37:5; 1 Kings 3:5; Daniel 2) and visions (Genesis 15:1; Ezekiel 8:3-4; Daniel 7; 2 Corinthians 12:1-7).
Of primary importance in the revealing of God is His Word, the Bible, which is also a form of special revelation. God miraculously guided the authors of Scripture to correctly record His
message to mankind, while still using their own styles and personalities. The Word of God is living and active (Hebrews 4:12). The Word of God is inspired, profitable, and sufficient (2
Timothy 3:16-17). God determined to have the truth regarding Him recorded in written form because He knew the inaccuracy and unreliability of oral tradition. He also understood that the
dreams and visions of man can be misinterpreted. God decided to reveal everything that humanity needs to know about Him, what He expects, and what He has done for us in the Bible.
The ultimate form of special revelation is the Person of Jesus Christ. God became a human being (John 1:1, 14). Hebrews 1:1-3 summarizes it best, “In the past God spoke to our forefathers
through the prophets at many times and in various ways, but in these last days he has spoken to us by his Son … The Son is the radiance of God's glory and the exact representation of his
being.” God became a human being, in the Person of Jesus Christ, to identify with us, to set an example for us, to teach us, to reveal Himself to us, and, most importantly, to provide
salvation for us by humbling Himself in death on the cross (Philippians 2:6-8). Jesus Christ is the ultimate “special revelation” from God.

Apologetics
• “Several biblical passages have historically motivated Christian apologetics.
R. C. Sproul, quoting the First Epistle of Peter ([1 Pet3:15]), writes that "The
defense of the faith is not a luxury or intellectual vanity. It is a task
appointed by God that you should be able to give a reason for the hope
that is in you as you bear witness before the world."[4] The verse quoted
here reads in full: "but in your hearts honor Christ the Lord as holy, always
being prepared to make a defense to anyone who asks you for a reason for
the hope that is in you; yet do it with gentleness and respect.” Another
passage sometimes used as a Biblical basis for Christian apologetics is
God's entreaty in the Book of Isaiah: "Come now, let us reason
together."[Is 1:18][5] Other scriptural passages which have been taken as a
basis for Christian apologetics include Psalm 19, which begins "The
heavens declare the glory of God; the skies proclaim the work of his
hands,"[Ps 19:1] and Romans 1, which reads "For since the creation of the
world God's invisible qualities—his eternal power and divine nature—have
been clearly seen, being understood from what has been made, so that
men are without excuse."[Rom 1:20][6]

Terminal Apostasies And The USA
• The Christ in Prophecy Journal
• Noah Hutchings on Terminal Apostasies
• Posted: 26 Jul 2013 06:00 AM PDT
• By Nathan Jones
• What are Terminal Apostasies and what do they mean to a nation?
• We asked this question on our television show Christ in Prophecy of Dr. Noah Hutchings, considered "The Dean" of American Bible prophecy experts. He is the director of a Bible prophecy
ministry in Oklahoma City called Southwest Radio Ministries, the author of over 100 books, and at 90 years old continues to serve the Lord in his decades long call to proclaim the Gospel.
•
Terminal Apostasies
• Dr. Reagan: Your third section has to do with terminal apostasies. What in the world are those all about?
• Dr. Hutchings: You can read in Scriptures in certain places where a nation or a people has gone so far into immorality that it says God gives them up to a reprobate mind, or turned His face
from them like He did with Israel. A nation or people can only go so far before God turns His face from a people and brings judgment upon them nationally.
• In that third section I deal with apostasies that we are performing here in the United States. For example, we are teaching children in school that the earth has evolved, and for that matter
everything's evolved, even if that disputes the Scriptures that God is the Creator.
• Dr. Reagan: We're not even allowed to give an alternative viewpoint in the classrooms.
• Dr. Hutchings: Yes, and Jesus said if we were to do this to one of these little children, if we were to harm one of these little children, well that's the worst thing that you can do. And yet, we
are doing the very same thing by teaching them lies.
• Then we have abortion. I was reading in the paper a special report where one organization has counted an amazing 333,000 abortions this past year.
• Nathan Jones: Yes, that's Planned Parenthood, and they were very proud of those numbers as well. They were bragging about the fact they performed more abortions than ever before.
• Dr. Hutchings: I think it should be called "Planned Non-Parenthood." And, there are so many other evil things we are doing here in this country that I think God will not tolerate.
• Dr. Reagan: For example, there's our toleration and even promotion of homosexuality and same-sex marriage. That is one of the signs that Paul gives in the book of Romans for a nation that is
about to collapse. Collapse begins when they tolerate that level of evil.
• Dr. Hutchings: Over and over in the Scriptures, Sodom was given as an example that people were not supposed to do this kind of evil, or what happened to Sodom would happen to your
nation. In Romans 1 Paul says that a nation that gives up natural sexual relations for unnatural relations is worthy of death.
• Dr. Reagan: To summarize you book, we've got the secular signs of the end times. We've got the end times signs of Israel. Then we've got the four signs that you call "terminal apostasies" that
really beg for the judgment of God to come upon a nation.
• Dr. Hutchings: And, regretfully, we are involved in all four here in the United States.
• Dr. Reagan: That reminds me of a sign that you mentioned in your book, and that's the sign of Noah — that in the end times society would become as immoral and as violent as it was in the
days of Noah.
• Dr. Hutchings: Yes, and it's easy enough to read in our newspapers, TV, radio and Internet. The earth is full of someone every day being killed. All that violence is happening.
• Dr. Reagan: Violence and immorality can also be found in movies and TV. I flipped on the TV and saw advertisements for programs to come. I couldn't believe my eyes! One of them was
called Scandal, in which every character is sleeping with whomever. Another one was calledRevenge, in which the whole program is about somebody each week getting revenge. The third
program, so help me, was called Californication, which is a play on the word California.Californication is the name of the program.
• We are just wallowing in a moral cesspool in this country right now, and then we export that all over the world.
• Dr. Hutchings: That's absolutely true through our radio programs and our TV programs. A lot of other countries have always looked to this nation as an example. But, what kind of example are
we now setting?
• Dr. Reagan: Not a very good one. I've often said the United States of America claims to be a Christian nation, but we are the moral polluter of planet earth.
• Dr. Hutchings: Right, and we should be wonder how long will God will allow this.
• DLK adds, Billy Graham said that, “If God does not judge America, He will have to apologize to Sodom and Gomorra.”

Verse of the Day -- Romans 1:28
•
And just as they did not see fit to acknowledge God any longer, God gave them over to a depraved mind, to do those things which are not proper.
•
THOUGHT FOR THE DAY
• You pay a stiff price when you refuse God's will in your life.
•
MINI BIBLE STUDY FOR THE DAY
• God has a perfect will for your life. And He also has a permissive will for your life. If we trust Jesus as our "Lord," as well as our "Savior," we please God.
To trust Him as "Lord," we seek whole-heartedly to obey His Word.
• If we deny God has any control over us and refuse to operate within scriptural boundaries, we may eventually end up with a depraved mind.
Romans 1:18-32 is an eye-opening disclosure of the consequences of sin. If you ever have trouble trying to overcome some sin in your life, just read
those verses to see where you are headed if you don't allow God to change you. It's a scary picture of how Satan fills the void when God's Word is
abandoned.
• For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men who suppress the truth in unrighteousness,
because that which is known about God is evident within them; for God made it evident to them. For since the creation of the world His invisible
attributes, His eternal power and divine nature, have been clearly seen, being understood through what has been made, so that they are without
excuse. For even though they knew God, they did not honor Him as God or give thanks, but they became futile in their speculations, and their foolish
heart was darkened. Professing to be wise, they became fools, and exchanged the glory of the incorruptible God for an image in the form of corruptible
man and of birds and four-footed animals and crawling creatures. Therefore God gave them over in the lusts of their hearts to impurity, so that their
bodies would be dishonored among them. For they exchanged the truth of God for a lie, and worshiped and served the creature rather than the
Creator, who is blessed forever. Amen. For this reason God gave them over to degrading passions; for their women exchanged the natural function for
that which is unnatural, and in the same way also the men abandoned the natural function of the woman and burned in their desire toward one
another, men with men committing indecent acts and receiving in their own persons the due penalty of their error. And just as they did not see fit to
acknowledge God any longer, God gave them over to a depraved mind, to do those things which are not proper, being filled with all
unrighteousness, wickedness, greed, evil; full of envy, murder, strife, deceit, malice; they are gossips, slanderers, haters of God, insolent, arrogant,
boastful, inventors of evil, disobedient to parents, without understanding, untrustworthy, unloving, unmerciful; and although they know the
ordinance of God, that those who practice such things are worthy of death, they not only do the same, but also give hearty approval to those who
practice them.
• —Romans 1:18-32

• When my daughter, Kelli, said her bedtime prayers, she would
bless every family member, every friend, and every animal
(current and past). For several weeks, after we had finished the
nightly prayer, Kelli would say, "And all girls."
This soon became part of her nightly routine, to include this
closing. My curiosity got the best of me and I asked her, "Kelli,
why do you always add the part about all girls?“

• Romans 1:25
• “Who changed the truth of God into a lie, and worshipped and served the creature more than the Creator, who is blessed for
ever. Amen.”
• In 1866, Professor Ernst Haeckel, a German zoologist and strong supporter of Darwin, published his theory that every
developing embryo recapitulates all the previous evolutionary stages of its species. So the human embryo began as a fish
with gills, then became frog-like, and so on until at the ninth month it was fully human. The real embryologists of his day
investigated Haeckel’s claims and discovered that he had faked some of his drawings to fit his theory! That should have been
the end of Haeckel’s theory then and there.
• Unfortunately, the theory became more important than the facts in the minds of Darwin’s followers, and it has been paraded
as prima facie evidence for evolution in every school biology textbook since 1866! The facts are that this theory was
discredited and rejected decades ago by the scientific community while even the Encyclopedia Britannica wrote the theory
off as being of “little significance.”
Only recently, after exposure of this anti-scientific idea by creationists, have some textbooks now stopped using embryology
as evidence for evolution. Nevertheless, it continues to be used as “scientific” justification for abortion, and this, too, needs
to be exposed to the light of God’s truth.
• Prayer:
• Father in heaven, it is especially easy even for Your people to fall into inadvertent worship of the creation in place of the
Creator in our materialistic age. Help me to root this sin out of my life. In Jesus’ Name. Amen.

Romans 1:29, Divorce VS Murder
Exodus 20:13 "You shall not murder.
A respectable lady went into the pharmacy, walked up to the pharmacist, looked
straight into his eyes, and said, 'I would like to buy some cyanide.'
The pharmacist asked, 'Why in the world do you need cyanide?'
The lady replied, 'I need it to poison my husband.'
The pharmacist's eyes got big and he exclaimed, 'Lord have mercy! I can't give you
cyanide to kill your husband. That's against the law! I'll lose my licence! They'll throw
both of us in jail! All kinds of bad things will happen. Absolutely not! You CANNOT have
any cyanide!'
The lady reached into her purse and pulled out a picture of her husband in bed with the
pharmacist's wife.
The pharmacist looked at the picture and replied, 'Well now, that's different. You didn't tell
me you had a prescription.'

Romans 1:30, Honor Father And Mother
• Question: "What does it mean to honor my father and mother?"
Answer: Honoring your father and mother is being respectful in word and action and having an inward attitude of esteem for their position. The Greek word for honor means “to revere,
prize, and value.” Honor is giving respect not only for merit but also for rank. For example, some Americans may disagree with the President’s decisions, but they should still respect his
position as leader of their country. Similarly, children of all ages should honor their parents, regardless of whether or not their parents “deserve” honor.
God exhorts us to honor father and mother. He values honoring parents enough to include it in the Ten Commandments (Exodus 20:12) and again in the New Testament: “Children, obey
your parents in the Lord, for this is right. Honor your father and mother which is the first commandment with a promise, so that it may be well with you, and that you may live long on the
earth” (Ephesians 6:1-3). Honoring parents is the only command in Scripture that promises long life as a reward. Those who honor their parents are blessed (Jeremiah 35:18-19). In contrast,
those with a “depraved mind” and those who exhibit ungodliness in the last days are characterized by disobedience to parents (Romans 1:30; 2 Timothy 3:2).
Solomon, the wisest man, urged children to respect their parents (Proverbs 1:8; 13:1; 30:17). Although we may no longer be directly under their authority, we cannot outgrow God’s
command to honor our parents. Even Jesus, God the Son, submitted Himself to both His earthly parents (Luke 2:51) and His heavenly Father (Matthew 26:39). Following Christ’s example,
we should treat our parents the way we would reverentially approach our heavenly Father (Hebrews 12:9; Malachi 1:6).
Obviously, we are commanded to honor our parents, but how? Honor them with both actions and attitudes (Mark 7:6). Honor their unspoken as well as spoken wishes. “A wise son heeds
his father's instruction, but a mocker does not listen to rebuke” (Proverbs 13:1). In Matthew 15:3-9, Jesus reminded the Pharisees of the command of God to honor their father and mother.
They were obeying the letter of the law, but they had added their own traditions that essentially overruled it. While they honored their parents in word, their actions proved their real
motive. Honor is more than lip service. The word “honor” in this passage is a verb and, as such, demands a right action.
We should seek to honor our parents in much the same way that we strive to bring glory to God—in our thoughts, words, and actions. For a young child, obeying parents goes hand in hand
with honoring them. That includes listening, heeding, and submitting to their authority. After children mature, the obedience that they learned as children will serve them well in honoring
other authorities such as government, police, and employers.
While we are required to honor parents, that doesn’t include imitating ungodly ones (Ezekiel 20:18-19). If a parent ever instructs a child to do something that clearly contradicts God’s
commands, that child must obey God rather than his/her parents (Acts 5:29).
Honor begets honor. God will not honor those who will not obey His command to honor their parents. If we desire to please God and be blessed, we should honor our parents. Honoring is
not easy, is not always fun, and certainly is not possible in our own strength. But honor is a certain path to our purpose in life—glorifying God. “Children, obey your parents in everything,
for this pleases the Lord” (Colossians 3:20).

  • 3. Follow up on Romans 1:1, The Gospel Of God In The OT • NAU Romans 1:1 Paul…set apart for the gospel of God, 2 which He promised beforehand through His prophets in the holy Scriptures, 3 concerning His Son… • Please turn in your Bibles to Isaiah 40:1; • NAU Isaiah 40:1 "Comfort, O comfort My people,"…. 3 A voice is calling, "Clear the way for the LORD in the wilderness; Make smooth in the desert a highway for our God. 4 "Let every valley be lifted up, And every mountain and hill be made low; And let the rough ground become a plain, And the rugged terrain a broad valley; 5 Then the glory of the LORD will be revealed, And all flesh will see it together; For the mouth of the LORD has spoken.” 3
  • 4. My Outline • 1, Our Unrighteousness (1-3:20) • 2, God's Righteousness Imputed (3:21-5) • 3, Our Sanctification From Sin (6-7) • 3, Our Position in Christ (8) • 4, Israel's Position And Promises (9-11) • 5, Our Walk (12-16) 4
  • 5. Romans Introduction • Author; the Apostle Paul • Date; A.D. 56 – 58 • Location; Written in Corinth (3rd missionary trip) • Purpose; Provide sound doctrinal teaching to the Roman church (and us?), whom he had not visited yet (1:13-15) 5
  • 7. Romans 1:18, “the wrath of God" against evolutionists • NAU Romans 1:18 For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men who suppress the truth in unrighteousness, • Evolution teachers are in big trouble! It is not just another theory of creation. Teaching that everything and everyone came into existence from no one and no thing is suppressing the truth that is evident in creation and logic. The law of cause and effect demands our creator must be very great, and personal. Luis Pasteur proved that life does not 7
  • 8. Romans 1:18, “suppress" • Romans 1:18 …men who suppress the truth… • Only NAU use of “suppress.” Rather than suppress the truth, they should have suppressed their evil desires. • Benjamin Franklin said, “Tis easier to suppress the first desire, than to satisfy all that follow it.” • NAU Romans 1:27 …men ….burned in their desire toward one another, men with men committing indecent acts… • NAU Galatians 5:16 But I say, walk by the Spirit, and you will not carry out the desire of the flesh. • NAU Colossians 3:5 …passion, evil desire, and greed, which amounts to idolatry. 8
  • 9. Romans 1:18, suppress the truth • Dave Hunt wrote, “Rejecting the truth God has revealed to everyone, man perverts the witness of creation and conscience and creates his own gods. The very appeal of the "Star Wars Force" or some "higher power" is that a force, being impersonal, cannot hold one morally accountable but, like atomic power, can be used by man to his own ends. Clearly, God has to be a personal Being to create and relate to mankind. The Bible gives the factual account of Lucifer's rebellion in heaven itself and how Eve believed the lie that she, too, could become one of the gods. To this day that lie remains the great hope and motivation of mankind. The remainder of the Bible is a recital of the devastating consequences of that rebellion, and the working out of God's plan to restore mankind into the "new heaven and...new earth" (Rev 21:1) which He has planned in His love and grace.”" • -- Dave Hunt, "Justice and Justification," The Berean Call, Feb. 1, 2002
  • 10. Romans 1:18, The Creation • Thomas Merton said, “Creation had been given to men as a clean window through which the light of God could shine into men’s souls. Sun and moon, night and day, rain, the sea, the crops, the flowering tree, all these things were transparent. They spoke to man not of themselves only but of Him who made them. Nature was symbolic. But the progressive degradation of man after the fall led the Gentiles further and further from this truth. Nature became opaque.”
  • 11. Romans 1:19-20 Humans Are Without Excuse • NAU Romans 1:19 because that which is known about God is evident within them; for God made it evident to them. 20 For since the creation of the world His invisible attributes, His eternal power and divine nature, have been clearly seen, being understood through what has been made, so that they are without excuse. 21 For even though they knew God, they did not honor Him as God or give thanks, but they became futile in their speculations, and their foolish heart was darkened [passive].
  • 12. Romans 1:20 The Lord Hardened Pharaoh's Heart • Ex 9:12, 10:1, 10:20+27…the Lord hardened Pharaoh's heart… • Ex 14:8…The Lord hardened the heart… • NAU Exodus 8:32 But Pharaoh hardened his heart this time also… • Heb 3:8 do not harden your hearts as you did in the rebellion, during the time of testing in the desert… • Heb 3:13 But encourage one another daily… so that none of you may be hardened by sin's deceitfulness. • The Lord, we, and sin's deceitfulness can harden our hearts. We must guard against becoming callused to sin. • NAU 1 Timothy 4:2 …seared in their own conscience as with a branding iron,
  • 13. Romans 1:20, The Theistic Evolution Is Not Biblical • NAU Romans 1:20 For since the creation of the world His invisible attributes,…have been clearly seen, being understood… • Humans have seen and understood since “since the creation of the world” • NAU Luke 11:50…since the foundation of the world, may be charged against this generation, 51 from the blood of Abel to the blood of Zechariah… • NAU Mark 10:6 "But from the beginning of creation, God MADE THEM MALE AND FEMALE. • 2 Peter 3:6, 1 Corinthians 15:47, 1 Timothy 2:13, 2 Corinthians 11:3, Acts 3:21 13
  • 15. Romans 1:20, God Is Clearly Seen In Nature • Romans 1:20 …His eternal power and divine nature, have been clearly seen… • Nature is too thin a screen; the glory of the omnipresent God bursts through everywhere. Ralph Waldo Emerson No Excuses • Kimberly Johnson has said, “Never ruin an apology with an excuse.”
  • 16. Romans 1:20, GotQuestions.org Special / General Revelation Revelation • “General revelation and special revelation are the two ways God has chosen to reveal Himself to humanity. General revelation refers to the general truths that can be known about God through nature. Special revelation refers to the more specific truths that can be known about God through the supernatural. • In regard to general revelation, Psalm 19:1-4 declares, “The heavens declare the glory of God; the skies proclaim the work of His hands. Day after day they pour forth speech; night after night they display knowledge. There is no speech or language where their voice is not heard. Their voice goes out into all the earth, their words to the ends of the world.” According to this passage, God’s existence and power can be clearly seen through observing the universe. The order, intricacy, and wonder of creation speak to the existence of a powerful and glorious Creator. …perhaps a working definition of general revelation would be “the revelation of God to all people, at all times, and in all places that proves that God exists and that He is intelligent, powerful, and transcendent.”
  • 17. Romans 1:20, GotQuestions.org Special / General Revelation • Special revelation is how God has chosen to reveal Himself through miraculous means. Special revelation includes physical appearances of God, dreams, visions, the written Word of God, and most importantly—Jesus Christ. The Bible records God appearing in physical form many times (Genesis 3:8, 18:1; Exodus 3:1-4, 34:5-7), and the Bible records God speaking to people through dreams (Genesis 28:12, 37:5; 1 Kings 3:5; Daniel 2) and visions (Genesis 15:1; Ezekiel 8:3-4; Daniel 7; 2 Corinthians 12:1-7). • Of primary importance in the revealing of God is His Word, the Bible, which is also a form of special revelation. …God determined to have the truth regarding Him recorded in written form because He knew the inaccuracy and unreliability of oral tradition. …The ultimate form of special revelation is the Person of Jesus Christ. God became a human being (John 1:1, 14). Hebrews 1:1-3 summarizes it best, “In the past God spoke to our forefathers through the prophets at many times and in various ways, but in these last days he has spoken to us by his Son … Jesus Christ is the ultimate “special revelation” from God. • 19. Romans 1:21,theranch.org They Did Not Give Thanks • “…In her book, The Hiding Place, Corrie Ten Boom tells the story of a time when she and her sister were in a concentration camp in Germany during the Holocaust. When they were thrown into a bunkhouse that was infected with fleas, her sister remembered that they needed to give thanks in all circumstances―even for the fleas. But Corrie said it was too much. She said, “There’s no way even God can make me grateful for a flea.” • But as the weeks went on, she discovered that the women in her barracks were being given an unusual amount of freedom. They could read to each other from a Bible they had hidden, and they could pray with one another. One day they discovered why when Betsy overheard the guards say that they wouldn’t step foot into their barracks. Why not? “That place is crawling with fleas!” the guard said. It was then that Corrie remembered her sister’s prayers of thanks even for the fleas….” 19

Reagan • At the death of King Solomon, the Kingdom of David split into two nations — Israel in the north, consisting of ten tribes, and Judah in the south, composed of two tribes. In like manner, the Scriptures proclaim that the most evil king in the history of Judah was Manasseh who "seduced Judah and the inhabitants of Jerusalem to do more evil than the nations whom the Lord had destroyed before the children of Israel" (2 Chronicles 33:9). • The Quality of American Leaders • It would be interesting to know God's judgment of the leaders of our nation. And we have been afflicted with evil leaders like Richard Nixon, who was forced to resign before he was impeached, and Bill Clinton, who was actually impeached, but not convicted. • But I would contend that never in all our 236 years as a nation have we had a ruler as evil as Barack Obama. • The Evil of Barack Obama • Obama is an enthusiastic advocate of abortion — even to the point that while serving as state senator in Illinois, he voted against a law that would have prevented the killing of babies who survived abortions! • Obama is an earnest supporter of sexual perversion. During his first four years as President, he issued a proclamation each June celebrating lesbians, homosexuals, bi-sexuals, and transgenders. And, of course, he has endorsed the abomination of same-sex marriage. • Obama has committed the immoral act of plunging our nation into unprecedented debt that will imprison our descendants indefinitely. • Obama has launched an unthinkable attack on our religious traditions and freedoms. If he could get his way, and he may well do so, he will remove "under God" from our pledge of allegiance and replace our national motto, "In God We Trust," with "E Pluribus Unum." He no longer speaks of "freedom of religion." It has been replaced with "freedom of worship." And he is attempting to override religious freedom with hate crime laws and non-discrimination laws in an attempt to make it a criminal offence to condemn sexual perversion or to discriminate on the basis of sexual perversion. And he will succeed in undermining it completely if he is able to make additional appointments to the Supreme Court during his second term. • Obama hates the Capitalist system which is a foundation stone of our liberties and which has produced the most prosperous economy the world has ever seen. He is determined to replace it with a Socialist system that will rob the responsible to award the irresponsible. • Obama despises our great history of pioneering liberty and justice for all citizens and fighting worldwide to provide or preserve freedom for other peoples. He has denounced our nation's anthem as "militaristic," and he has portrayed us to the world as a colonialist power, apologizing for the foreign policy that saved Europe from the Nazis and rebuilt the continent through the Marshall Plan. And expect him also to launch an all-out assault on home schooling. • America's Revolt Against God • In my book, America the Beautiful? The United States in Bible Prophecy (2003, 2006, 2009), I pointed out that when a nation begins to rebel against God, He will start afflicting that nation with remedial judgments, calling the nation to repentance. I showed from the Scriptures that those judgments can take many forms, and that one of those is to give the nation the kind of leaders it deserves. • Our headstrong revolt against God began in the 1960's with the sexual revolution that was laced with drugs. It has continued unabated since that time as we have kicked God out of our schools and our public life. In the process, Christianity has morphed into the image of our increasingly secular and pagan society, desiring to be accepted by society rather than standing against it by speaking out in behalf of godliness and righteousness. • And so, we are now reaping what we have sown. And we will continue to do so as long as we put selfish considerations ahead of moral ones — as, for example: • When Black Christians vote on the basis of race regardless of the candidate's moral values. • The Significance of Morality • Why am I emphasizing moral issues? The reason is simple. It's because they are the real issues. In this past election the real issues were not the economy and unemployment. The real issues were spiritual in nature. They were the celebration of sexual perversion, the trashing of the value of life, the elevation of greed over responsibility, and the abandonment of support for the nation of Israel. These were the true issues because our collective failure in these areas is the precise reason why we are experiencing the collapse of our economy and subsequent massive unemployment. • Our nation is under the judgment of God. In response, He has provided us the kind of leadership we deserve. • In my Prophetic Manifesto, issued before the election, I began it with these words: "America is finished. We as a nation have turned our back on God." I concluded the Manifesto with this observation: • Is there any hope for America? No! Our only hope is Jesus, and thus we have no hope, for we have rejected Him. We have turned our back on the very God who made us great and showered us with blessings. Everybody has received—or will receive—bad news during life’s pilgrimage. Thankfully, bad news is not the whole story. Interspersed with unwelcome, unsettling news we have received news that has been uplifting and elating. Paul's letter to the Romans presents the worst of news and the best of news, to paraphrase a well-known line. The worst of news is that all people are helpless and hopeless under sin’s tyranny; the best of news is that more-than-adequate grace is available for rescue and right living. • As a gift from Explore The Bible, we would like to offer you a free eBook- a commentary on the amazing book of Romans. We hope it will be a valuable tool in your Bible study tool box and will deepen your understanding of the incomprehensible weight of God's grace. 50

According to Creation Moments Board Chairman Mark Cadwallader, the greatest mass murderer was China's Mao Tse Tung. During his political reign, Mao was responsible for murdering 77 million people while enforcing his "Great Leap Forward", and he "purged" millions more during what he called "The Cultural Revolution". • Mao Tse Tung at Joseph Stalin's 70th birthday celebration in 1949.Interestingly, Mao is reported to have said the following: "Chinese socialism is founded upon Darwin and the theory of evolution." Now, who's the runner-up to Mao? No, it's still not Hitler. The second greatest mass murderer was Joseph Stalin, who similarly saw the value of evolution to his plans for a collectivist state. He used purges, starvation and prison camps to force people out of their own property and into acceptance of the ideology where God is replaced by government. He was responsible for the murder of up to 40 million people. • The presumption that evolution is a scientific fact, disproving God and validating the philosophy of "might makes right", has justified terrible atrocities in the post-Darwin twentieth century. • Darwinism isn't just responsible for the physical death of millions, it has led to the spiritual death of many millions of people who prefer to live in a universe where God does not exist. In that you say, "Everyone who does evil is good in the sight of the LORD, and He delights in them," or, "Where is the God of justice?" • QUESTION FOR THE DAY • Dear Compass, • Our church has a very strong mission focus and program. I was recently reading in our church mission literature that they believe roughly 40% of the world's population are not aware of Jesus Christ nor have heard the Gospel. I pray for these people, but I struggle that God would condemn them and not save them when they are not even aware of His Son and what He did for us. I am having a hard time understanding this in light of our forgiving God. • ANSWER: • The Israelites asked the same question: • You have wearied the LORD with your words. Yet you say, "How have we wearied Him?" In that you say, "Everyone who does evil is good in the sight of the LORD, and He delights in them," or, "Where is the God of justice?" —Malachi 2:17 God is a loving God but also a God of justice. It's a fact that we all have sinned and deserve death. • for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God —Romans 3:23Therefore, just as through one man sin entered into the world, and death through sin, and so death spread to all men, because all sinned —Romans 5:12 • But the righteous God of the universe loved His creation so much that He came and paid the price of sin (death), for all who, by faith, trust in His shed blood on Calvary. • For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish, but have eternal life. For God did not send the Son into the world to judge the world, but that the world should be saved through Him. —John 3:16-17So really, it's not that some people will burn in hell for eternity, it's that any of us escape at all!

God knows how we are made. He knows how we work. And He had all that in mind when He designed the marriage relationship. For this reason, one would expect that trying to fashion a family by simply living together would result in less happiness than when properly married. Numerous studies have shown the results of couples living together without the benefit of marriage. One 1992 study, conducted by a group based at Rutgers University, showed that even cohabitors who eventually got married had a 46 percent greater chance of divorce than those who had begun in a proper marriage relationship. A more recent study by a Bowling Green University researcher measured and compared the depression scores between married couples and cohabitors. Married people had an average depression score of 13.3, while cohabitors showed a higher depression score of 17.2. Cohabiting is even worse for the children. Thirty six percent of the children born to cohabitors who later married will see their parents divorce. Only one third of the children born to married people will see their parents divorce. It is clear that in His love for us, God designed marriage for our happiness and blessing. • Prayer: • We thank You, dear Father, for the gift of marriage. Bless and strengthen marriage among us. • 74. Romans 1:19 Perfect Design In Creation • TODAY'S CREATION MOMENT • “THE MOST PERFECT DESIGN I’VE EVER SEEN” • inAnimals • Listen • Psalm 107:24 • “These see the works of the LORD, and his wonders in the deep.” • “The most perfect design I’ve ever seen.” Those words were uttered by a materials engineer after studying a deep sea sponge from the Pacific Ocean. And, indeed, the Euplectella aspergillun, claimed to be an early and primitive sponge, can teach modern materials engineers a number of useful things. • The sponge’s body is made up of a thin layer of cells over an intricate glass skeleton. The sponge grows into a cylindrical shape about 8 inches long and about an inch across. The wonder lies in the glass skeleton that is made up of vertical and horizontal beams of glass. Diagonal beams strengthen this grid. One-third of these beams are thicker than the others, adding the extra strength of ridges to the cylinder. What’s more, each of these glass beams is made up of small cylinders of glass glued together with more glass-like tree rings. The result is a structure that spreads the pressures that might crush an ordinary glass structure this size. It is a delicate looking, but nearly unbreakable, glass structure. • In a less-than-scientific test, one researcher noted that one has to jump full weight on one of these cylinders to even produce any cracking, and such jumping will still not break it. “The most perfect design I’ve ever seen,” said the researcher. There’s little that we at Creation Moments can add to that. • Prayer: • Father, I thank You for all Your wonders, the greatest of which is Your love in forgiving me for Jesus’ sake. Amen. • Notes: • Science News, 3/25/06, pp. 184-185, Aimee Cunningham, “Making the Most of It.”

  • 76. Romans 1:20, What is the difference between created and made?, by Matt Slick • The difference between something being created and something being made is that when something is created it is brought into existence out of nothing. But, when something is made it has been formed out of something else that already exists. So, when God created the heavens and the earth (Genesis 1:1), he did not form them out of something that already existed. Instead, he brought them into existence when there was no existence beforehand. • However, God made man out of the dust of the ground. He formed man out of that which already existed, the ground. • "Then the LORD God formed man of dust from the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living being," (Genesis 2:7). • "Then God said, “Let Us make man in Our image, according to Our likeness; and let them rule over the fish of the sea and over the birds of the sky and over the cattle and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creeps on the earth." 27 God created man in His own image, in the image of God He created him; male and female He created them. 28 God blessed them; and God said to them, “Be fruitful and multiply, and fill the earth, and subdue it; and rule over the fish of the sea and over the birds of the sky and over every living thing that moves on the earth,'" (Genesis 1:26-28). • In addition, and to make our actions performed upon something else. In other words, something does not bring itself into existence and something does not make itself. • In the context of God's work, his creating the heavens and the earth reveals his great power and ability. When you consider the incredibly vast expanse of the universe, the billions of galaxies and the billions of stars in those galaxies, then you can get a brief glimpse of the incredibly wondrous creative power and ability of God. I say brief glimpse because we cannot possibly comprehend the expanse of the universe in God's creative work associated with it. • When you consider that God has the ability to take matter and form it into other things, like a human being, then you should be struck by the incredible ability of God to form basic elements and molecules into incredibly complex information structures found in DNA that make life possible. 76

  • 78. Romans 1:18-20, 8:29-30, Called Or Drawn By God, gracethrufaith.com • Who Does The Father Draw? Follow Up • Wednesday, January 8th, 2014Salvation • Q. Concerning “Who Does the Father Draw?”…I totally agree with you except for the part that God doesn’t call everyone. I believe He does, either through hearing the Word or through observation of creation (Romans 1:18-20; Psalm 19:1-4; Job 12:7-12). Also John 12:32 says “When I am lifted up I will draw all men unto Myself”. I truly believe that every lost person has been drawn by the Holy Spirit at some point in their lives, probably several times, but continued to reject that calling. Therefore, at the Great White Throne judgment no lost person will be able to accuse God that He isn’t fair because He never called them. Actually, I think we are in agreement that people send themselves to eternal judgment and that they did indeed have a choice. • A. Like you, I believe the door to salvation is open to everyone during their lifetime. We know that God wants everyone to be saved (2 Peter 3:9) and Paul said everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved (Romans 10:13). My point in saying God only calls those who he knows will respond comes fromRomans 8:29-30. • “For those God foreknew he also predestined to be conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brothers and sisters. And those he predestined, he also called; those he called, he also justified; those he justified, he also glorified.” • Notice there’s no fallout between any of the steps from foreknowledge to glorification. The ones He foreknew He predestined. The ones He predestined He called. The ones He called He justified, and the ones He justified He glorified. The process begins with God, who knows the end from the beginning, seeing in advance those who will become His. And everyone who enters the process completes it. Based on that, it would seem that if He were to call everyone, then everyone would be saved. • But as we know that’s not the case. Therefore, I can only conclude that there must be a difference between being drawn by the Holy Spirit and being called by God. It must be that although the Holy Spirit draws all men, some harden their hearts against this and resist. At the GWT judgment I believe those who resisted unto death will be enabled to recall all the times in their life when this happened, until finally their hearts became too hard to penetrate. This will show them to be without excuse. • After years of study I’ve become fully persuaded that each of us controls our own destiny where our salvation is concerned. Otherwise God is neither fair nor just. • http://gracethrufaith.com/ask-a-bible-teacher/father-draw-follow/
  • 79. Rom. 1:19-20 A Biblical Defense of the Faith • A Biblical Defense of the Faith • Written by Jason Hauser. • Have you ever considered how biblical your approach is to handling objections when you witness for Christ? It doesn't help that a great majority of apologetical resources encourage unbiblical methods. Whether the individual you engage is a skeptic or a false convert, they need to be confronted with the depravity of their sin, the authority of God's Word and the exclusivity of Christ. This is because their positions are the same and their objections are similar. They are both without Christ and they both appeal to their own authority to justify how they live. • Do such individuals need to be given better evidences to refute their objections? Do they simply lack a few key proofs that Jesus is Lord and Savior? Or does such an approach perpetuate a false notion that they are the judge and God is on trial? Nowhere in Scripture do we find Jesus or His disciples giving more evidence for what skeptics reject. The biblical model begins with the fact that man is "without excuse" because "what can be known about God is plain to him, because God has shown it to them" in His creation (Rom. 1:19-20). Despite man having this inherent truth about God, he suppresses it (Rom.1:18). For this reason, it is not wise to spend time arguing over evolution, the existence of God, or for that matter, anything opposed to the Bible. If God's Word says it, then it is true. If one rejects His Word, the problem is not a lack of evidence, but an unwillingness to submit to the authority of God and His Word. For this reason we must defend the faith, not with extra-biblical evidences, but with the Bible alone. This is the best approach because God's infallible Word never returns void (Isa. 55:11). • Some Christians compromise and seek a neutral source for truth when someone doesn't respect the Bible. Yet, there is no such thing as neutrality, for each person has their own presuppositions. They are drawn either from submitting to God's authority or an authority of their own choosing. When someone rejects the supreme authority of God's Word, how can appealing to a lesser authority be of any help (Rom. 10:17; 2 Tim. 3:15- 17; Heb. 4:12)? If an unbeliever wins an argument using an extra-biblical source, they will still need to surrender to Christ's authority for salvation. • Proverbs 26:4-5 provides a wonderful model for answering objections. It states, "Answer not a fool according to his folly, lest you be like him yourself. Answer a fool according to his folly, lest he be wise in his own eyes." Verse 4 reveals the importance of responding with truth while verse 5 explains the importance of exposing untruth. In other words, don't answer a skeptic by using his faulty worldview, but rather stay centered on biblical truth. Show the futility of clinging to anything opposed to God's Word. Also, do not allow the unbeliever to steal components from your biblical worldview such as logic, reason, certainty, or morality, none of which can exist apart from God. • As an example, imagine a discussion with a Catholic who believes they are a Christian but has unknowingly rejected the Gospel. First, we should point them to Gospel truth as laid out in God's Word. The conversation might begin by asking how one hopes to get to heaven. After they have articulated an unbiblical understanding of salvation, ask, "If God's Word said something different would you want to know?" Then show them that they fall short of God's perfect standard. Show them, that in their sin they must give an account to a holy and just God who cannot overlook sin. Show them their only hope is the Gospel and help them understand that grace, by its very nature, cannot be earned and that it is by faith and repentance that the sinner is made right with God. Reinforce that to add anything else to this free gift, is an assault on the gift itself (Rom. 11:6). If the Catholic is humble and interested in the Gospel, then continue to engage them and exhort them to forsake everything else and trust Christ alone. To discern if there is biblical understanding, ask the Catholic about certain Catholic teachings which oppose the gospel. Look for genuine understanding of biblical truth and repentance of previously held gospel opposed beliefs. • If however the conversation doesn't even get this far and the gospel message is rejected, then we need to switch gears. We must transition from leading out with the truth (Prov. 26:4), to showing the folly of the untruth that the unbeliever is currently trusting in (Prov. 26:5). This would involve respectfully but honestly exposing why the Catholic teaching on salvation is problematic. Ask them about their authority and how they know what they are saying is true. Ask multiple "how" and "why" questions to dig deeper and reveal the root of what they believe and why. At some point it will be exposed that they are either trusting in man blindly or their own authority. Demonstrate how this is a dangerous path to be on and what Scripture has to say about trusting man (Ps. 118:9,146:3). Discuss why man always drifts to religion when he really needs a saving relationship with His Lord and Savior. Jesus' discussion with the very religious Nicodemus in John 3 and Paul's testimony of the value of his prior religion in Philippians 3 both would be great texts to make this point. Let them see by way of analogies from Scripture where they stand and let God's powerful Word bookmark your conversation in their minds. • When the Gospel is proclaimed biblically and backed up by a strong biblical defense to any objections, then the evangelist further removes them self from the conversation. This allows for the individual to rightly see their rebellion against a holy God before whom they must one day give an account (Heb. 4:13). Because this defense of the faith rightfully stands on God's Word which is compared to a powerful sword, (Heb. 4:12, Eph. 6:17) we must be wise in how we use it. With the truth on our side, it is easy to make a fool of the unbeliever and put them in their place. However, doing so demonstrates wrong motives, a proud spirit, and a lack of compassion for those who are perishing. The apostle Peter reminds believers when they give a defense of the faith to do so with "gentleness and respect" (1 Pet. 3:15). What good is exposing an unbeliever's false worldview if they are so turned off by your manner that they refuse to listen to you (1 Cor. 13:1)? We must continue to demonstrate our love for the unbeliever and show them that the door is open for them to repent and enter. May we saturate both our gospel witness and defense of the faith in prayer, that our hearts would be right, that we would stay faithful to God's Word, and He would be glorified. • Recent Blog Posts • Sin, Apostasy, and Prayer • To Go or Not to Go? • Tradition • Repent and Believe the Gospel • The Righteousness of God • Related Articles / Blog Posts • How should we approach unbelievers' objections to the faith? • Debating the Lost • Copyright © 2013 Proclaiming the Gospel
  • 80. Romans 1:20 Would God Send Some Innocent Native In Africa To Hell • The Christ in Prophecy Journal • The Existence of God: Without Excuse • Posted: 07 Aug 2013 06:00 AM PDT • By Nathan Jones • What about those who have never heard the Gospel? • We asked this question on our television show Christ in Prophecy of Carl Gallups, senior pastor of Hickory Hammock Baptist Church in Milton, Florida, and the author of the best-selling apologetics book, The Magic Man in the Sky. He is also the founder of the world famous PPSIMMONS YouTube channel and prominent Freedom Friday radio talk show host. • Those Who Never Heard • Nathan Jones: There are many huge evidences that prove God's existence for people to use in trying to grow in their faith and dispute the Skeptics. Are there other evidences that people can know God apart from the Bible then that you'd like to highlight? • Carl Gallups: You mean, if there are ways that people can come to know God, even if they've never had a Bible? • Nathan Jones: Yes, they've never had a Bible. They are living in some rainforest somewhere and they've got to come to know God in order to be saved. Is there a way possible? • Carl Gallups: Yes, and as a matter of fact, I've got a chapter in my book entitled something along the lines of, "But What About Those Who Have Never Heard?" • Nathan Jones: Yes, that's a huge and complex question people are always asking for an answer to. • Carl Gallups: So, let's say this happens to a person living in the Amazon that a missionary has never visited nor opened a Bible and read the Gospel to them? That's a wonderful question, but that question is based upon a couple of false premises. The first that comes to mind, it is based upon the premise that all men are innocent from the beginning and therefore if they don't hear the Gospel they are sent to Hell, and that somehow is unfair. We know the Word of God says that we are all born into sin in the first place. • Are their ways that someone can come to an understanding of God apart from the Bible? Well, we know that the preaching of the Gospel is God's main purpose, His main way, His main design, for men and women and boys and girls to know Him. However, we also know from that Word what Romans 1 says, in that we are all without excuse. The man in the Amazon jungle is without excuse because of the things that have been created. God replied, "I am the Lord." • The Apostle Paul was on his way to kill Christians in the name of God. While outside the Temple of God the Pharisees were thinking they had done God a favor by crucifying the Son of God. Paul was a Pharisee, and in just a few years later he was helping to stone Christians. He was on his way to kill more Christians. How's anyone going to reach him for Jesus Christ? Well, the Lord Jesus appeared to Paul, struck him blind, struck him down on the road. In the end of all things, we leave reaching the seemingly unreachable in His hands. Our responsibility is to take the Gospel to the ends of the earth by every means that we have. • But, for somebody to make the argument, "What about the person who never hears you preach and so that's not fair," well I respond, "God's not limited by our limitations." That's my quick answer to that complex question. • In the nineth segment of our interview with Pastor Carl Gallups concerning the existence of God, he'll answer that difficult question, "How can there be a God with all the evil and suffering in the world?"
  • 81. Romans 1:20 Special / General Revelation Revelation • Question: "What is general revelation and special revelation?" Answer: General revelation and special revelation are the two ways God has chosen to reveal Himself to humanity. General revelation refers to the general truths that can be known about God through nature. Special revelation refers to the more specific truths that can be known about God through the supernatural. In regard to general revelation, Psalm 19:1-4 declares, “The heavens declare the glory of God; the skies proclaim the work of His hands. General revelation is also taught in Romans 1:20, “For since the creation of the world God's invisible qualities—His eternal power and divine nature—have been clearly seen, being understood from what has been made, so that men are without excuse.” Like Psalm 19, Romans 1:20 teaches that God’s eternal power and divine nature are “clearly seen” and “understood” from what has been made, and that there is no excuse for denying these facts. With these Scriptures in mind, perhaps a working definition of general revelation would be “the revelation of God to all people, at all times, and in all places that proves that God exists and that He is intelligent, powerful, and transcendent.” Special revelation is how God has chosen to reveal Himself through miraculous means. Of primary importance in the revealing of God is His Word, the Bible, which is also a form of special revelation. God miraculously guided the authors of Scripture to correctly record His message to mankind, while still using their own styles and personalities. The Word of God is living and active (Hebrews 4:12). The Word of God is inspired, profitable, and sufficient (2 Timothy 3:16-17). God determined to have the truth regarding Him recorded in written form because He knew the inaccuracy and unreliability of oral tradition. He also understood that the dreams and visions of man can be misinterpreted. God decided to reveal everything that humanity needs to know about Him, what He expects, and what He has done for us in the Bible. The ultimate form of special revelation is the Person of Jesus Christ. God became a human being (John 1:1, 14). Hebrews 1:1-3 summarizes it best, “In the past God spoke to our forefathers through the prophets at many times and in various ways, but in these last days he has spoken to us by his Son … The Son is the radiance of God's glory and the exact representation of his being.” God became a human being, in the Person of Jesus Christ, to identify with us, to set an example for us, to teach us, to reveal Himself to us, and, most importantly, to provide salvation for us by humbling Himself in death on the cross (Philippians 2:6-8). Jesus Christ is the ultimate “special revelation” from God. Recommended Resource: The Moody Handbook of Theology by Paul Enns. • GotQuestions.org via icontact.com
  • 82. Romans 1:20, wikipedia.Classical Apologetics • “Several biblical passages have historically motivated Christian apologetics. R. C. Sproul, quoting the First Epistle of Peter ([1 Pet3:15]), writes that "The defense of the faith is not a luxury or intellectual vanity. It is a task appointed by God that you should be able to give a reason for the hope that is in you as you bear witness before the world."[4] The verse quoted here reads in full: "but in your hearts honor Christ the Lord as holy, always being prepared to make a defense to anyone who asks you for a reason for the hope that is in you; yet do it with gentleness and respect.” Another passage sometimes used as a Biblical basis for Christian apologetics is God's entreaty in the Book of Isaiah: "Come now, let us reason together."[Is 1:18][5] Other scriptural passages which have been taken as a basis for Christian apologetics include Psalm 19, which begins "The heavens declare the glory of God; the skies proclaim the work of his hands,"[Ps 19:1] and Romans 1, which reads "For since the creation of the world God's invisible qualities—his eternal power and divine nature—have been clearly seen, being understood from what has been made, so that men are without excuse."[Rom 1:20][6]
  • 83. Romans 1:24, God Gave Them Over Terminal Apostasies And The USA • The Christ in Prophecy Journal • Noah Hutchings on Terminal Apostasies • Posted: 26 Jul 2013 06:00 AM PDT • By Nathan Jones • What are Terminal Apostasies and what do they mean to a nation? • We asked this question on our television show Christ in Prophecy of Dr. Noah Hutchings, considered "The Dean" of American Bible prophecy experts. He is the director of a Bible prophecy ministry in Oklahoma City called Southwest Radio Ministries, the author of over 100 books, and at 90 years old continues to serve the Lord in his decades long call to proclaim the Gospel. • Terminal Apostasies • Dr. Reagan: Your third section has to do with terminal apostasies. What in the world are those all about? • Dr. Hutchings: You can read in Scriptures in certain places where a nation or a people has gone so far into immorality that it says God gives them up to a reprobate mind, or turned His face from them like He did with Israel. A nation or people can only go so far before God turns His face from a people and brings judgment upon them nationally. • In that third section I deal with apostasies that we are performing here in the United States. For example, we are teaching children in school that the earth has evolved, and for that matter everything's evolved, even if that disputes the Scriptures that God is the Creator. • Dr. Reagan: We're not even allowed to give an alternative viewpoint in the classrooms. • Dr. Hutchings: Yes, and Jesus said if we were to do this to one of these little children, if we were to harm one of these little children, well that's the worst thing that you can do. And yet, we are doing the very same thing by teaching them lies. That is one of the signs that Paul gives in the book of Romans for a nation that is about to collapse. Collapse begins when they tolerate that level of evil. • Dr. Hutchings: Over and over in the Scriptures, Sodom was given as an example that people were not supposed to do this kind of evil, or what happened to Sodom would happen to your nation. In Romans 1 Paul says that a nation that gives up natural sexual relations for unnatural relations is worthy of death. • Dr. Reagan: To summarize you book, we've got the secular signs of the end times. We've got the end times signs of Israel. Then we've got the four signs that you call "terminal apostasies" that really beg for the judgment of God to come upon a nation. • Dr. Hutchings: And, regretfully, we are involved in all four here in the United States. • Dr. Reagan: That reminds me of a sign that you mentioned in your book, and that's the sign of Noah — that in the end times society would become as immoral and as violent as it was in the days of Noah. One of them was called Scandal, in which every character is sleeping with whomever. Another one was calledRevenge, in which the whole program is about somebody each week getting revenge. The third program, so help me, was called Californication, which is a play on the word California.Californication is the name of the program. • We are just wallowing in a moral cesspool in this country right now, and then we export that all over the world. • Dr. Hutchings: That's absolutely true through our radio programs and our TV programs. A lot of other countries have always looked to this nation as an example. But, what kind of example are we now setting?
  • 84. Romans 1:24, God Gave Them Over • Today is September 30, 2013 • Verse of the Day -- Romans 1:28 • And just as they did not see fit to acknowledge God any longer, God gave them over to a depraved mind, to do those things which are not proper. • THOUGHT FOR THE DAY • You pay a stiff price when you refuse God's will in your life. • MINI BIBLE STUDY FOR THE DAY • God has a perfect will for your life. If you ever have trouble trying to overcome some sin in your life, just read those verses to see where you are headed if you don't allow God to change you. It's a scary picture of how Satan fills the void when God's Word is abandoned. • For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men who suppress the truth in unrighteousness, because that which is known about God is evident within them; for God made it evident to them. For since the creation of the world His invisible attributes, His eternal power and divine nature, have been clearly seen, being understood through what has been made, so that they are without excuse. For even though they knew God, they did not honor Him as God or give thanks, but they became futile in their speculations, and their foolish heart was darkened. Professing to be wise, they became fools, and exchanged the glory of the incorruptible God for an image in the form of corruptible man and of birds and four-footed animals and crawling creatures. Therefore God gave them over in the lusts of their hearts to impurity, so that their bodies would be dishonored among them. For they exchanged the truth of God for a lie, and worshiped and served the creature rather than the Creator, who is blessed forever. Amen. For this reason God gave them over to degrading passions; for their women exchanged the natural function for that which is unnatural, and in the same way also the men abandoned the natural function of the woman and burned in their desire toward one another, men with men committing indecent acts and receiving in their own persons the due penalty of their error. And just as they did not see fit to acknowledge God any longer, God gave them over to a depraved mind, to do those things which are not proper, being filled with all unrighteousness, wickedness, greed, evil; full of envy, murder, strife, deceit, malice; they are gossips, slanderers, haters of God, insolent, arrogant, boastful, inventors of evil, disobedient to parents, without understanding, untrustworthy, unloving, unmerciful; and although they know the ordinance of God, that those who practice such things are worthy of death, they not only do the same, but also give hearty approval to those who practice them. • —Romans 1:18-32

For several weeks, after we had finished the nightly prayer, Kelli would say, "And all girls." This soon became part of her nightly routine, to include this closing. My curiosity got the best of me and I asked her, "Kelli, why do you always add the part about all girls?“ • Her response, "Because everybody always finish their prayers by saying 'All Men'!“ • Numbers 5:22, 1st. • 86. Rom 1:25, Ernst Haeckel, embryology, embryo recapitulates • WERE YOU A FISH? • in Animals • Listen • Romans 1:25 • “Who changed the truth of God into a lie, and worshipped and served the creature more than the Creator, who is blessed for ever. Amen.” • In 1866, Professor Ernst Haeckel, a German zoologist and strong supporter of Darwin, published his theory that every developing embryo recapitulates all the previous evolutionary stages of its species. So the human embryo began as a fish with gills, then became frog-like, and so on until at the ninth month it was fully human. The real embryologists of his day investigated Haeckel’s claims and discovered that he had faked some of his drawings to fit his theory! That should have been the end of Haeckel’s theory then and there. • Unfortunately, the theory became more important than the facts in the minds of Darwin’s followers, and it has been paraded as prima facie evidence for evolution in every school biology textbook since 1866! The facts are that this theory was discredited and rejected decades ago by the scientific community while even the Encyclopedia Britannica wrote the theory off as being of “little significance.” Only recently, after exposure of this anti-scientific idea by creationists, have some textbooks now stopped using embryology as evidence for evolution. Nevertheless, it continues to be used as “scientific” justification for abortion, and this, too, needs to be exposed to the light of God’s truth. • Prayer: • Father in heaven, it is especially easy even for Your people to fall into inadvertent worship of the creation in place of the Creator in our materialistic age. Help me to root this sin out of my life. In Jesus’ Name. Amen. • Notes: • Photo: Haeckel’s discredited embryo illustrations are still in some school textbooks. • http://www.creationmoments.com/radio/transcripts/were-you-fish

  • 91. Romans 1:30, Honor Father And Mother • Question: "What does it mean to honor my father and mother?" Answer: Honoring your father and mother is being respectful in word and action and having an inward attitude of esteem for their position. The Greek word for honor means “to revere, prize, and value.” Honor is giving respect not only for merit but also for rank. For example, some Americans may disagree with the President’s decisions, but they should still respect his position as leader of their country. Similarly, children of all ages should honor their parents, regardless of whether or not their parents “deserve” honor. God exhorts us to honor father and mother. He values honoring parents enough to include it in the Ten Commandments (Exodus 20:12) and again in the New Testament: “Children, obey your parents in the Lord, for this is right. Honor your father and mother which is the first commandment with a promise, so that it may be well with you, and that you may live long on the earth” (Ephesians 6:1-3). Honoring parents is the only command in Scripture that promises long life as a reward. Those who honor their parents are blessed (Jeremiah 35:18-19). In contrast, those with a “depraved mind” and those who exhibit ungodliness in the last days are characterized by disobedience to parents (Romans 1:30; 2 Timothy 3:2). Solomon, the wisest man, urged children to respect their parents (Proverbs 1:8; 13:1; 30:17). Although we may no longer be directly under their authority, we cannot outgrow God’s command to honor our parents. Even Jesus, God the Son, submitted Himself to both His earthly parents (Luke 2:51) and His heavenly Father (Matthew 26:39). Following Christ’s example, we should treat our parents the way we would reverentially approach our heavenly Father (Hebrews 12:9; Malachi 1:6). Obviously, we are commanded to honor our parents, but how? Honor them with both actions and attitudes (Mark 7:6). Honor their unspoken as well as spoken wishes. “A wise son heeds his father's instruction, but a mocker does not listen to rebuke” (Proverbs 13:1). In Matthew 15:3-9, Jesus reminded the Pharisees of the command of God to honor their father and mother. They were obeying the letter of the law, but they had added their own traditions that essentially overruled it. While they honored their parents in word, their actions proved their real motive. Honor is more than lip service. The word “honor” in this passage is a verb and, as such, demands a right action. We should seek to honor our parents in much the same way that we strive to bring glory to God—in our thoughts, words, and actions. For a young child, obeying parents goes hand in hand with honoring them. That includes listening, heeding, and submitting to their authority. After children mature, the obedience that they learned as children will serve them well in honoring other authorities such as government, police, and employers. While we are required to honor parents, that doesn’t include imitating ungodly ones (Ezekiel 20:18-19). If a parent ever instructs a child to do something that clearly contradicts God’s commands, that child must obey God rather than his/her parents (Acts 5:29). Honor begets honor. God will not honor those who will not obey His command to honor their parents. If we desire to please God and be blessed, we should honor our parents. Honoring is not easy, is not always fun, and certainly is not possible in our own strength. But honor is a certain path to our purpose in life—glorifying God. “Children, obey your parents in everything, for this pleases the Lord” (Colossians 3:20).
