If you’re responsible for creating diverse, scalable automated tests but don’t have the time, budget, or a skilled-enough team to create yet another custom test automation framework, then you need to know about Robot Framework!
In this webinar, Bryan Lamb (Founder, RobotFrameworkTutorial.com) and Chris Broesamle (Solutions Engineer, Sauce Labs) will reveal how you can use this powerful, free, open source, generic framework to create continuous automated regression tests for web, batch, API, or database testing. With the simplicity of Robot Framework, in conjunction with Sauce Labs, you can improve your test coverage and time to delivery of your applications.
This presentation demonstrates general guidelines how to create good test cases using Robot Framework. Both good practices and anti-patterns are presented.

An Introduction To Automated API TestingSauce Labs
As more and more apps are being assembled from a rapidly expanding array of microservices, APIs are the key to accessing these new architectures. That new feature you’re working on will often rely on upstream services that can only be accessed via APIs - so to test the functionality of the new component you’ll need to simulate those services.
While APIs are the backbone of the websites and apps we rely on today, automated testing of them is only starting to grow. Join Patrick Poulin, CEO of API Fortress, as he provides an introduction to API testing, the best ways to test your own APIs using popular tools available today, and demonstrates the orchestration of API tests and Sauce Labs tests as part of a Jenkins build process.
Key takeaways:
-Clearly understand what API testing means.
-Learn about best practices.
-See demonstrations of popular testing tools.
-See API and UI/UX testing implemented as part of a Jenkins build.

Software testing concepts is going to enhance from manual testing to automated testing. Due to rapidly increasing complexity in software development process, the present manual testing technique is not sufficient for effective testing. Hence, here arises the requirement of test automation process. The automation testing is the software testing process in which the tester use advance automation tools for testing software applications areas, which needs to be tested again-and-again due to frequent changes.
Robot Framework is a generic keyword-driven test automation framework for acceptance level testing and acceptance test-driven development (ATDD). It has an easy-to-use tabular syntax for creating test cases and its testing capabilities can be extended by test libraries implemented either with Python or Java. Users can also create new keywords from existing ones using the same simple syntax that is used for creating test cases.

Automating End-to-End Business Scenario TestingTechWell
Allstate Insurance had a problem. While thoroughly testing each of their more than thirty business systems, they were still failing to provide good service to their clients, agents, and internal customers. The reason was simple. Implementing end-to-end business processes requires more than just running data through a set of separate systems. While focusing on automating unit, integration, and system testing, they had failed to consider the need for system-to-system integration tests―tests that would verify that their business systems passed data correctly, met interface expectations, and synchronized properly. Monika Mehrotra and Sandra Alequin describe how Allstate, with the assistance of Infosys, supplemented their existing test suites with a set of end-to-end tests that provided deeper test coverage, demonstrating proper system operation from beginning to end. In addition, Allstate implemented a test environment that more closely resembled their production environment, discovering defects that had previously escaped into daily operation. Learn the importance of end-to-end, not just piecemeal testing.

An API, or Application Programming Interface, is a collection of functions that provide much of the functional capabilities in complex software systems. Most customers are accustomed to interacting with a graphical user interface on the computer. But, many customers do not realize the much of the functionality of a program comes from APIs in the operating system or program's dynamic-link libraries (DLL). So, if the business logic or core functionality is exposed via an API call then and if we want to find functional bugs sooner than API testing may be an approach that provides additional value in your overall test strategy. Additionally, API testing can start even before the user interface is complete so functional capabilities can be tested while designers are hashing out the "look and feel." API testing will not replace testing through the user interface, but it can augment your test strategy and provide a solid foundation of automated tests that increase your confidence in the functional quality of your product.

Kubernetes & AI - Beauty and the Beast !?! @KCD Istanbul 2024Tobias Schneck
As AI technology is pushing into IT I was wondering myself, as an “infrastructure container kubernetes guy”, how get this fancy AI technology get managed from an infrastructure operational view? Is it possible to apply our lovely cloud native principals as well? What benefit’s both technologies could bring to each other?
Let me take this questions and provide you a short journey through existing deployment models and use cases for AI software. On practical examples, we discuss what cloud/on-premise strategy we may need for applying it to our own infrastructure to get it to work from an enterprise perspective. I want to give an overview about infrastructure requirements and technologies, what could be beneficial or limiting your AI use cases in an enterprise environment. An interactive Demo will give you some insides, what approaches I got already working for real.

2. Problem?
• Development of embedded system software requires
testing also at the hardware level, i.e. running on actual
device.
• Manual testing slows down the development process.
• How to automate the testing of the final product?
• Example using payment terminal.
3. Solution
• Let’s do exactly what human user would do, press the
buttons and look at the screen, but with a robot
• Integrate robot and computer vision to Robot Framework
—> easily readable and writable test cases and reports
• Let’s make testing efficient and integrate the testing robot
to CI environment
4. The Robot
• Shapeoko 2, 3-axis CNC-milling machine
• Equipped with a pushing tool, turns in to a
portal robot
• Controlled by an Arduino parsing g-code
sent over serial bus
• Working area can be populated with
multiple devices
• Robot Framework library was created for
machine control
5. Computer Vision
• Characters are recognised from the screen using
Tesseract OCR engine developed by HP labs and
Google
• Recognises characters from the image and
represents found features in verbal format
• Images are captured by using Raspberry Pi
camera
• Efficient enough that OCR, test case execution
and machine control can be all run using just one
Raspberry Pi 2
• Created Robot Framework library for taking
picture, processing the image and doing OCR
