Robert Frost was born in 1874 in San Francisco, California. After his father died when he was 11, his family moved to Massachusetts to live with grandparents due to financial difficulties. Frost went on to finish high school and publish his first poems in his high school bulletin. His poem "The Road Not Taken" describes coming to a fork in the road in a yellow wood and choosing the less traveled path, knowing it would make all the difference.
