Rick and Morty is a television series created by Justin Roiland and
Dan Harmon for Adult Swim. It follows the misadventures of Rick
Sanchez and his grandson Morty Smith, who travel across dimensions
to retrieve artifacts in order to save the multiverse. Rick Sanchez is an
inherently lazy Jerry-like scientist, but lacks his Jerry's intelligence.
The show has been described as "Zelda meets Back to the Future"
due its science-fiction elements such as time travel, interdimensional
travel, and alien cultures mixed with Americana. The show features
colourful characters such as Professor Poopybutthole or Mr.
Meeseeks who come about from simulations within their dimension's
reality computers called "Turbulents".
Ever since Rick and Morty first aired, the fanbase has been
undeniably passionate. The show's popularity has spawned fan
creations like fan fiction, remixes of iconic scenes from the series, and
original drawings of the characters themselves. Now that the show is
currently airing its third season on Adult Swim, we can't help but
wonder what this Rick and Morty craze will grow into as fans await
each new episode.
His grandson Morty Smith often needs to save him from these
mishaps, as he gets pulled into one crazy adventure after another with
Rick whether he likes it or not.
So if you're a huge fan of the series like I am, then you're probably
really excited about all of those upcoming new episodes that we've
been hearing rumors about (the latest episode title suggested that an
alien invasion may be imminent).
