A rhinolith is a stony mass that forms around a foreign body, blood clot, or inspissated secretions in the nasal cavity over time. It presents with unilateral nasal obstruction, foul smelling bloody discharge, and neuralgic pain. On examination, it appears as an irregular grey, brown, or greenish black mass that is stony hard, located between the nasal septum and turbinate. Treatment involves surgically removing it under general anesthesia via a lateral rhinotomy procedure.

2. Aetiology
• Slow deposition of calcium and magnesium salts around exogenous
foreign body, blood clots or inspisated secretions

3. Clinical features
• Unilateral nasal obstruction
• Foul smelling discharge with blood stained
• Frank epistaxis
• Neuralgic pain

4. On examination
• Grey brown or greenish black mass with irregular surface and stony
hard feel btw septum and turbinate

5. Treatment
• Removal under GA
• Lateral rhinotomy
