1. REVIEW OF OFFSIDE
The movie offside is directed by Jafar Panahi one of the famous director of Iranian
movies. The movie is revolving around the girls who are caught by guards since
female entering the stadium in Iran is banned. Panahi turns girl power fable into
political discourse. Donning boys outfits, soldiers informs, the girls behave dire
punishments and some hard words from their parents to be able to see their
team go ahead to head with Bahrain in world cup qualifying match.
The story was shot when the match was going on live. In the films key scenes
one of the girl is in desperate need of a toilet is led to washroom by the male
guard of the group, but what happens next is must watch part.
The dialogue and the characters are well scripted with the story the way the
guards protects girls, the reason why girls are banned ne interesting kid character
and girls tough attitude to overcome all the protest are the reason why one must
watch it.
It gives overall look towards the Iranian society as a viewer. The film looks
documentary of the incident when girls are at the offside of stadium what all
mess creates. It reflects the beauty of human nature and rigid society.
