Philippians 4:1-9 is some of the most beautiful of Paul's writings. Paul begins with an exhortation to put aside our petty differences and work together in the Kingdom of God. He encourages them to not be anxious but have a peace of mind that surpasses human understanding. His prayer is that all of the church would meditate on things honorable, just, pure, lovely, commendable, excellent and worthy of praise!
What is the real message of this little one chapter book? it is the story of forgiveness - Philemon had to forgive Philemon to receive him back. it is a story of reconciliation - restoring a relationship that had been lost. And it is a story of a changed relationship - from slave to brother; from master to brother!
The "little" book of Philemon is "huge" in teaching! When Paul wrote to Philemon he had an important message to send but he needed a way to reach a man like Philemon. In this message we dissect Paul's way of reaching Philemon with the truth of forgiveness, reconciliation and changed relationships.

Kingdom Building Seminar | 2013
"Conflict and Unity in God's Church"
November 9, 2013 at Hillsborough Baptist Church, NB
Talk: The Road Ahead
Speaker: Rev. Dr. John Weiler
To see the Slides from the presentation go to:
Sponsored by the Albert Association of Convention Baptist Churches (www.acbaptist.ca)
Bio:
John was born in Ontario and received Christ as Lord and Saviour through the witness of a godly mother and Christ-centered Church. Believing God called him to pastoral ministry he prepared at Ontario Bible College (Toronto, ON) and Trinity Evangelical Divinity School (Deerfield, ILL, USA). John has served as Senior Pastor of churches in Ontario, Nova Scotia and New Brunswick. He served the Convention of Atlantic Baptist Churches as a Regional Minister in Eastern New Brunswick and Prince Edward Island for over 12 years. After retiring from full time ministry in Dec. 2011 John has served as interim pastor in three churches. John married Jane in 1967. Their daughter is married to Geoff and they are serving in St Martins Baptist Church.
Paul summarizes the first part of his letter of correction before heading on to other issues in the church at Corinth. Godly leadership as well as godly followers are needed both then and today. This is the last in the series Build in Right.
In 2007 the congregation read through "The Message" New Testament by Eugene Peterson. This lesson is taken from the assigned reading from Apr 29-May 5.
A verse by verse commentary on John chapter 15 dealing with Jesus as the true vine, and those who are branches will bear much fruit. Jesus warns that the world will hate and persecute those who follow Him. Jesus says the Father will send the Spirit of Truth to bear witness of Him.
"Philadelphia" means city of "Brotherly Love." What could be more brotherly than telling prospective brothers about God's great love? Jesus commended this church for maintaining their missions focus, despite being mistreated. He also promised them deliverance from God's anger at the entire world (3:10), also known as the Pre-Tribulational Rapture.
Is Jesus ever impressed with our wealth? That's not a question many of us ever seem to ask! It's one of the most vital issues that rich Christians should address, though. He wants us spiritually alive instead of financially aloof.

: From whatever angle we choose to view the age we live in today, the letter that Paul wrote to the Colossians 2,000 years ago is still amazingly relevant. This message the eight men mentions in Paul’s parting words to the Colossians, and which of them each of us may identify with.
Through the letters of the apostle Paul, we discover key focus areas as we pray for our local church and those in leadership. Through our faithful praying for the local church, we help communities of believers mature into Christlikeness, fulfill God's purposes and walk in purity and holiness. Homily: The Solemnity of the Most Holy Trinity Sunday 2024.docxJames Knipper
Countless volumes have been written trying to explain the mystery of three persons in one true God, leaving us to resort to metaphors such as the three-leaf clover to try to comprehend the Divinity. Many of us grew up with the quintessential pyramidal Trinity structure of God at the top and Son and Spirit in opposite corners. But what if we looked at this ‘mystery’ from a different perspective? What if we shifted our language of God as a being towards the concept of God as love? What if we focused more on the relationship within the Trinity versus the persons of the Trinity? What if stopped looking at God as a noun…and instead considered God as a verb? Check it out…

Renewed in Grace
In Jude 17-23 Jude shifts from piling up examples of false teachers from the Old Testament to a series of practical exhortations that flow from apostolic instruction. He preserves for us what may well have been part of the apostolic catechism for the first generation of Christ-followers. In these instructions Jude exhorts the believer to deal with 3 different groups of people: scoffers who are "devoid of the Spirit", believers who have come under the influence of scoffers and believers who are so entrenched in false teaching that they need rescue and pose some real spiritual risk for the rescuer. In all of this Jude emphasizes Jesus' call to rescue straying sheep, leaving the 99 safely behind and pursuing the 1.
