processing in sonar systems (patent applied for). Led Raytheon’s participation in the AN/AQS-
20 P3
I program.
2004 – 2007: Manager, Surface Platform Sensor Systems Development Section
Managed of a group of 20 engineers and administrative assistants, most of whom were assigned
to various systems engineering roles in the DD(X) program. This position has included technical
direction, coordinating independent reviews, preparing cost estimates and associated Bases of
Estimate, career counseling and problem resolution activities.
2001 – 2004: Senior Principal Systems Engineer, Ocean Systems Programs
Responsible for systems engineering aspects of a classified undersea program involving several
sensor technologies. Responsible for system engineering on a program involving the use of
parametric sonar to image objects buried up to 2 meters deep in the sea floor.

2000 - 2001: Chief Engineer, AN/AQS-22 Dipping Sonar Program
Responsible for all technical aspects of Raytheon’s on-going contracts related to the AN/AQS-22
(ALFS) helicopter dipping sonar system.
1996 – 2001: Technical Director, AN/SQQ-32 Minehunting Sonar Programs
Responsible for all technical aspects of the on-going contracts related to the AN/SQQ-32
minehunting sonar system. These included the advanced (V)3 version using updated topside
hardware and software and the AN/SQQ-32(SP) version for Spain, which incorporates a sidescan
capability. This position involved close relations with the US and Spanish customers, Spanish
teammates and Raytheon’s internal lead personnel.
1994 - 1996: Interface Control Working Group Leader, Joint Tactical Combat Trainer
System
Responsible for controlling and specifying the interfaces, both mechanical and electrical, between
the JTCTS and Fleet Training Ranges such as Southern California Offshore Range (SCORE),
Atlantic Fleet Weapon Training Facility (AFWTF) and Pacific Missile Range Facility (PMRF).
1993 - 1994: Technical Director, Mk-30 Mod 2 ATS Program
Served as Technical Director of the Mk-30 Mod 2 ATS program from pre-proposal activity
through System Design Review. Responsible for the technical integrity of the system and
functioned as the prime interface on all technical issues with the customer and Raytheon's internal
lead personnel. During the course of the program, maintained close relations with the customer
and kept the customer informed with discussions and technical presentations. Internally, directed
the system design and participated in key staffing activities.
1990 - 1993: Technical Director, Mine Search System (MSS) Program
Technical and Test Director for Raytheon's portion of the Mine Search System (MSS) program,
which was the second of DARPA's Autonomous Undersea Vehicle (AUV) programs. Raytheon
was responsible for integrating the sonar systems, providing the Acoustic Command Link, and
providing technical guidance to Lockheed Missiles and Space Corporation, the prime contractor,
on all acoustical matters. Participated full time in the sea testing of the MSS system in the Pacific
Ocean near San Diego.
1988 - 1991: Technical Director, Tactical Acoustic System (TAS) Program
Technical Director for Raytheon's portion of the Tactical Acoustic System (TAS), which was the
first of DARPA's AUV programs. Responsible for the technical content of Raytheon's portion of
the contract through delivery and test of hardware and software. Raytheon supplied the entire
Acoustic Subsystem, which was similar to the MK-30 acoustic system and included signal
generation and reception processing, power amplifiers and transducers, and an acoustic command
link. Directed the successful TAS acoustic system test and demonstration program on the
Underwater Tracking Ranges at Dabob Bay and Nanoose, BC.
1985 - 1988: Technical Director, EX-30 Mod 2 Block Upgrade Programs
