Internship Experience
Columbia University, Department of Statistics 09/08/2015-12/14/2015
Assistant Consultant
A PhD student and I formed a group to do the consulting job for other departments in Columbia University. Our
clients are post doctors, PhD students, master students, fellows in Columbia University Medical Center and so on.
When they are doing their projects, they might have some technical problems about statistics that they cannot solve by
themselves. So they come to us for the suggestions. We met the client once a week.
Statistical Bureau of Zibo 07/07/2014-08/22/2014
Assistant Statistician
Carried through the GDP accounting and statistics by using Production Approach, Income Approach and
Expenditure Approach
Utilized statistical knowledge to calculate CPI and FAI (Fixed Asset Investment), etc
Used data to make exponential regression analysis; tried to use Bayesian Theory to give a prediction and
estimation
China Construction Bank, Zibo Branch, Customer Service Department 07/21//2013-08/23/2013
Assistant of Account Executive
Collected data and utilized Probability Theory to evaluate credit rating, further to provide advice for bank
Assisted experienced workers in designing elaborate surveys responding to clients’ demands
Assisted the VIP clients with accounts' opening, loan process, took part in product's sales and promotion and
data analysis to locate potential customers and expand business
Research Experience
Models for the Prediction of the Results of Competitive Sports Based on Multivariate Statistics and Neural
Network Algorithm 03/2014-05/2015
Research Objectives: Use statistical models and machine learning algorithms to find out the factors that
influence the results of the competitive sport games and make predictions.
Position: Project Leader
Project Duties: Use PCA to reduce the dimension of the data. Create a model to evaluate the wining probability
between each team. Try to use linear regression, stepwise regression, multiple regression, logistic regression
models to make prediction. Use neural network to make the prediction and use Adaboost algorithm to optimize
it. Try to find the relationship between the property of the network and the number of the nodes in hidden layer
and build a model to evaluate it.
The Application of Differential Equation in Error Analysis and System Stability 05/2013-09/2014
Research Objectives: Used differential equation model to analyze the spread of infectious diseases
Position: Project Leader
Project Duties: Simulated the spread of infectious diseases by using ordinary differential equation
Research Results: Brought the data of H1N1, which were publicized by the government, into the model to
conduct a numericalsimulation; predicted and verified the effectiveness of the model; the imitative effect was
pretty good
