 Worked with a nursing team to analyze and identify the significant communication problems
and potential harmful consequences that were arising with the increasing Spanish speaking
patient population and lack of efficient access to certified interpreters.
- Developed a simplified “Helpful Spanish Phrases” tool to be used at the bedside to
improve patient satisfaction and outcome due to better communication between
patient and nurse. This tool allieviated delay of care related to translator wait time
(2010).
