2. Description:
GSR or Gigabit switch Router(C12000), is a series of large network routers designed and manufactured by
Cisco Systems. It is marketed primarily to large service providers, as well as for use in some enterprise networks. The
routers are made with a variety of chassis sizes and types, all of which share compatible card interfaces. Routers in this
series are designed to provide IP and MPLS services. To maximize availability for service providers, the feature set
includes redundant power supplies, standby route processors, resilient fabric, and alarm modules.
I am involved with the QoS module of the GSR router based team, which deals with the Quality of Services
parameters governing the acceptance or rejection of the packets coming in or leaving the interface of the GSR router.
Roles and responsibilities :
 Developing new features as required by the customer.
 Unit Test the newly developed features.
 Enhancing features as per the requirements.
 Developing Python based scripts to automated the jobs.
 Bug fixing and maintenance of the product.
 Sanity test for the bug fixes.
