Projects completed
Analysis of Quantization and Subsampling of an Image (Multimedia Systems, USC, Feb 2011)
Conversion of an image from RGB color space to YUV color space and reconstruction(upsampling) of the image back in
the RGB color space after implementing the various methods of subsampling of Luma and Chroma samples and quantization
required by the user using Java .
Google Maps Emulation (Database Systems, USC, July 2010)
A Database Development Project, built using Java and Oracle 10g as database (Spatial database).Developed a downsized
version of the USC map including an interactive GUI which enables the user to draw and select points on the map. On
selecting one or all radio buttons, the respective queries are sent to the database and the result is shown on the map.
Android Application using the Facebook Sdk (Web Tech, USC, Nov 2010)
An android application where the user can select an image from the gallery of images and post it on Facebook , also allowing to
publish on the wall .
Implemented an array of Java programs(Introduction to programming, USC, August 2010-Dec 2010)
Implemented a program which randomly generates the words and prefixes from the input file and the words printed on
a new output file using Markov’s process. The data structure used here was hash maps to increase the efficiency.
Implemented a User Interactive Command Line Math program which deals with creating a polynomial according to the
number of terms entered by the user, printing of the sparse polynomial, addition and multiplication of the polynomials
using different data structures, also keeping in mind the complexity of the algorithm.
Implemented a GUI to imitate a Drunkard walk and display it using the paint component.
AJAX/JAVA Servlets based Application (Web Technologies, USC, Facebook-Yahoo finance API Mashup)
This application extracts the data of the stocks entered by the user by retrieving the data from finance.yahoo.com using Java Servlet
and Perl(Web Scrapping) at the server side (TomCat Server) and JSON, JavaScript, DOM, XML and HTML at the client side.
The Facebook’s API is used to post the stock values selected on the user’s Facebook page and use the data for further manipulation
to display the output as required.
Implemented an efficient HashMap permitting chained collisions in C++. (USC, Nov 2010)
