- Created and instituted the “Critical Care Unit Comfort Tree” as a special personal project. The
Comfort Tree is a 6-foot tall artificial tree in the CCU waiting room. The tree is for family
members and friends of a patient in CCU. It is designed for those less comfortable asking for
prayer and wanting extra prayer. Its purpose is also to create a sense of unity and support
between the different families all going through tough times. There is a basket that sits with the

2. tree with heart cut-outs attached to ribbon. The idea is to write the name or room number of the
patient and hang it on the tree. A member from our Spiritual Care Team prays over the tree
daily.
