IT Help Desk/QAAnalyst at WW Norton & Company (November 2014 – April 2015)
Position consisted of responsibilities that included: troubleshoot errors received in help desk ticket
system; process test scripts for new products (including websites, consumer products and company
applications) across multiple browsers, operating systems and devices (Firefox/Chrome/IE/Safari,
Windows/Mac/Android); analyze and test new systems from a usability and functionality
perspective; document findings and procedures; assist in writing documentation using Confluence.
Project Experience
Android OS Research Presentation – Group lead in a collaborative project that aimed to research
different elements of the Android operating system and present findings in one concise presentation.
Duties included assigning responsibilities, organizing team meetings and communication within
group and with professor, compile documents and findings into one concrete presentation.
Construct Business Plan for local Farmer's Market: Create groundwork for mock-enterprise
system for store “relaunch” (processes included in final document were steps for procurement,
fulfillment and production) (Heavy use of paper prototyping and flow charts)
Creation of a Managerial Restaurant Sales System with GUI: Project Lead for design and
development of “in-house” application for use by employees (waiter, cashier and kitchen staff) that
included a GUI and use of Java Database Connectivity (JDBC). Demonstrated application to
professor. (Used Java, GitHub, and Microsoft Access)
ATM System: Develop ATM Software with GUI/JDBC using Java, MS Access and MS Word.
Technical Document reviewed elements of business process, Testing/Maintenance protocols, legacy
systems integration and reuse methodology. Project was part of an online class.
LEGO Mindstorms NXT Maze: Program a 'Lejos Robot' to navigate a physical maze (project
demanded a considerable amount of logical thinking using Java, Eclipse and Bluetooth) Project
demo demonstrated that the robot could successfully navigate through the maze with predetermined
specifications.
Wyoming Country Chamber of Commerce Project: Revitalized their Database Systems
(Specifically worked with ChamberMaster, QuickBooks and used WebEx for meetings with WCCC
client. Created three 'How To' Technical Documents using 'Best Practices' Methodology tailored to
WCCC's Requests) Project included a final oral presentation to class and submission of technical
document listing all phases and proceedings of project. 'How To' technical documents were also
delivered to customer for future use within their business.
