EMPLOYMENT HISTORY
Jawbone (Research Assistant) November 2013 – December 2014
Jawbone devices use advanced sensor technology to track activity and sleep, with options
for tracking of nutritional intake and mood. Some of their devices are medical. Worked
as Research Assistant for Jawbone’s “wearables” division in their Pittsburgh research
laboratory. Helped office and offsite locations perform data collection on subjects to
assess sensor reliability in medical and non-medical devices. Wrote and ran Matlab and
Python scripts to develop algorithms for future use in their wearable products.
Collaborated on a project on the International Space Station with researchers in
Strasbourg.
National Center for Atmospheric Research (Research Intern) 2012
NCAR is a government-funded national R&D center. Interned doing solar research at
their High Altitude Observatory in Boulder, Colorado with Mausumi Dikpati, Nick
Featherstone, and Charles Lindsey. IDL programming language was used to analyze
Fourier transforms of solar cycle data. Presented research results at an American
Geophysical Union meeting in San Francisco and at an Atmosphere and Cryosphere
Assembly meeting in Davos, Switzerland.
Lawrence University 2010-2013
