This research poster presentation analyzes the relationship between shootings, assaults, and thefts with the location of liquor stores, schools, food establishments, and tax delinquencies in Howard County, Maryland from 2005 to 2015. The results show that liquor stores are positively associated with increased shootings and assaults, while schools are also positively associated with increased assaults. Additionally, tax delinquencies are positively related to increased thefts, but liquor stores have an insignificant impact on thefts.
