Existing products Cex
• Cex is a highly successful game company that consists in selling electronics, buying second
hand electronics and selling video games and dvds and blue ray. The company was created in
the year 1992 in London. Since company firstly grew in England, the products may slightly
prioritise advertising to British customers. For example the adverts and products might be
made in a certain way just so it can appeal more to British customers. For example I
researched for Cex old previous adverts and I discovered this one on YouTube
https://youtu.be/1-QAVaoH_VI that displays a British commentator and actors and
location for the whole advert.
• Further more on the game store adverts they have a repetition of trying to make the videos
very humorous and funny, Like the way they sell there products is in like a comically
designed. https://youtu.be/EXO6frI7iz4?list=PL1BrMq3ZWUSARQYk1W1EWFu5xFbIVTHtF
Existing products Cex graphic design
• Looking at there graphic design for there company's logo poster and web it consists with lots
of mixed (bright) colours. Mostly heavily focused on white and red. I think the reason for this
colour choice Is because of it been mostly a British company and it is copying the colour
scheme of the English flag this company is heavily English themed.
• Looking in to the fonts they chose to use, they went for for a retro theme. The font is in a
large bubbly font with bright colours. And I would say the reason for this is that since it’s a
very old company, is taking the retro route because that type of theme appeals to older
audiences that grew up in birth of retro video games and consoles however in the official
website they talk about how they have young customers “Doesn't time fly? It seems like
only yesterday when CeX opened its doors for the first time. From little nippers to the
oldest kids in the classroom, the founders still run the show, keeping it fiercely
independent, passionately un-corporate, yet always professional.”
• Further information on the company, retro is classed as a very nerdy geeky kind of style.
Looking at Cex official website in a small section about affordable the call there audience
Geeks. “ What's a geek to do?” this shows what type people they are advertising for making
it a lot clearer why they chose to design this way.
Cex logo
• Going in to more detail and the choices of the design on the logo, the graphic
design is heavily retro based images likes and shapes. As stated on the website
they chose to have a basic colour scheme. They went for a red ,white and black
colour scheme. Retro images and designs normally have a repeated theme of
having bright colours and circle shapes. I have already pointed this out but on third
logo its displayed a lot.
• The colour they chose for the store Is very important because went for special
group of colours that a used to represent different meanings. Red its is average
powerful colour represent power and confidence.
• One key thing about the logo it the shape that the x on Cex looks like. It is two
arrows crossing each other and I believe that represents the exchange between
the company and the customers because not only the sell video game and
consoles the also buy them off you.

CEX Poster
• Cex’s poster is poster is highly detailed. The poster has a old fashion London 19
century look to it. I was thinking it was like because the first store opened in 1992
just before they entered the technological revolution where stores started to
change or start there look of high tech.
• The poster kept the basic colours that they took from the logo and placed it in the
poster keeping the consistency with the colours. I can see that they are choosing
to keep the retro colour design because the colour choices for the poster seem to
be kind of dimmed down to kind of look all use up and old. This poster was maybe
trying to achieve a classic look to it and a special look that can be distingueshed
from others, that’s the usual aim when people design a retro themed image or
product.

Existing products “Game”
• Game is another retail game store that started in 1991, it’s a very new brand its has a
reputation of advertising to younger audiences like looking in the website they are
advertising for games which have a high sub total of you people playing the game. This
company operated in the united Kingdom meaning that it was spread out through out the
world so it had a larger amount of audiences.
• Looking in at the time of when this game store started it is just one before video games
where starting to improve and moving on to 3 dimensional games( Wolfenstein 3d, released
in 1992, was the first game that started to resemble modern 3d games, but it still relied on
flat cards for characters)
• so what I’m trying to say is that it took a different path to most other stores taking like a
futuristic next generation kind of look.
Existing products “Game” Graphic
design
• Looking at the logo for the store it has a very simple bland look, fairly thick sized text with no
further stuff that’s been added on like outlines and mixed colours. I have a feeling that they
have taken this path because they are aiming to take a high tech design to it.
• The website has the same theme, it only has colours that are heavily darkened to make look
very professional. Sleek solid colours and images

Existing products Adidas
• Adidas firstly a German company named AH-dee-DAHS which then got its name converted to Adidas and stayed like that
since 1949. it’s a multinational corporation founded and headquarter in Herzogenaurauch, Germany. That designs and
manufactures shoes, clothing and accessories. It is the largest sportwear manufacturer in Europe and the second largest in
the world , after nike.
Existing products Adidas logos
• In 1952, following the 1952 Summer Olympics, Adidas acquired its signature 3-stripe
logo from the Finnish athletic footwear brand Karhu Sports, for two bottles of
whiskey and the equivalent of 1600 euros. This logo does not have a specific look.
The company simple placed three black stripes on everything that they
manufactured. Even this early in their history, the company was known for this
branding. The owner of the company at the time liked to call his business “The three
stripe company”. Even as new logos took the place of the old ones, the company
would remain loyal to the three stripes look. The trefoil was the second Adidas logo.
The theme of three stripes is still evident in the look, both in the leave that shoot
out from the logo, and the three stripes that cross it diagonally. This logo was
chosen because the company wanted a logo that represented the fact that their
brand was a lot larger and more diverse that it used to be while still keeping the
classic Adidas look.
• This logo is still used on some of their products, particularly their line of classic
products. Most of their high-performance products have moved on to a third and
final logo.
• This logo is the latest one that has been introduced, and it represents some of the
finest equipment that Adidas sells. This logo more than the others is supposed to
have a lot of meaning. The company wanted to keep the three stripes that they
were known for, but also add something to give the logo some power.
• This new logo is supposed to resemble a mountain, like it is challenging the people
who buy Adidas products to push themselves to their limits. This latest logo appears
on many pieces of sports equipment and the new logo is still instantly and obviously
“Adidas” to anyone who sees it. There is no denying that the Adidas logo is
effective. Almost anyone who sees it can tell you it belongs to Adidas, and many
companies are willing to spend billions for that sort of recognition. The Adidas logo
probably works because it starts with a very simple design.
• Three black stripes makes for a very striking design, and it can be placed on almost
any product. The fact that no Adidas logo changes too much from the original design
means that all of their logos empower their brand without the risk of going
unrecognized. With a sizeable contribution from their logo, Adidas will probably
remain a sportswear powerhouse for years to come.

• The letter “V” in the Vans logo imparts a unique feel and prominent look to the overall design. As the right end of the “V”

Survey Analysing
Question 1 and 2
Question 1
The age is vey important for my research on the survey because I'm
attempting to reach the young audience are under the age of 40 really
because I want young audiences for my store and I assume that the
majority of the audiences/ costumers for the stores are young people.
On my survey the majority of the audiences are young part from the on
that put in there ages as 65+. That was people placing faulty
information.
Question 2
This part of the survey was kind of expected having more male then
female wanting to do the survey, gaming is normally targeted at men
more then female. However there is still female customers that would
like to purchase games and consoles.
Question 3
For this survey question I wanted to see what type of theme
people would like mostly out of the three main themes and
it seems that the high tech professional look was favourites
with the percentage of 66.67%. I wasn’t purposed because
high end retail companies like Game go that route and they
have got highly successful.
The trendy look I said was a little vague description, what I
meant by that was a little like high tech but it has a look
that fallows the trends that’s going round.
Lastly the lowest most voted theme was retro that has a
really low vote and I expected that. Retro was more of a
look most older audiences go for but, the audience I'm
targeting for meant to be younger so what I will have to do
is go a high tech professional look.
Summing it all female customers wanted the high tech
professional look, men customers where mixed but
prioritised in the high tech professional look.
Question 4
This was very obvious on what the results was going to be because
most game stores priorities in selling video games and high end
platforms like switch ps4 and Xbox. Mostly the male chose the video
game and consoles so I would have to priorities in advertising more
products based around the consoles. Most of the female went for
the accessories and lastly the dvd and movies was the lowest voted
so I wouldn't’t have films in my store.
Summing up the whole thing what I was trying to find out on
question is what the majority of customers would be looking for
when they enter the store and I felt that the consoles and games
would be the most purchased.
Question 5
• This was a very important question because
the question was meant to help me chose a
theme of the logo. The first answer told me
what type of logo I should go for. The highest
voted was the normal logo with the
interesting font. For that answer it was simply
just people that like the text style for the
logos so that would mean prioritising in
making an logo with very unique use of colour
and effect around the text.
• Second highest voted was the logo with
shapes been foxed to look more interesting.

The font is in a large bubbly font with bright colours. And I would say the reason for this is that since it’s a very old company, is taking the retro route because that type of theme appeals to older audiences that grew up in birth of retro video games and consoles however in the official website they talk about how they have young customers “Doesn't time fly? It seems like only yesterday when CeX opened its doors for the first time. From little nippers to the oldest kids in the classroom, the founders still run the show, keeping it fiercely independent, passionately un-corporate, yet always professional.” • Further information on the company, retro is classed as a very nerdy geeky kind of style. Looking at Cex official website in a small section about affordable the call there audience Geeks. “ What's a geek to do?” this shows what type people they are advertising for making it a lot clearer why they chose to design this way.
  • 4. Cex logo • Going in to more detail and the choices of the design on the logo, the graphic design is heavily retro based images likes and shapes. As stated on the website they chose to have a basic colour scheme. They went for a red ,white and black colour scheme. Retro images and designs normally have a repeated theme of having bright colours and circle shapes. I have already pointed this out but on third logo its displayed a lot. • The colour they chose for the store Is very important because went for special group of colours that a used to represent different meanings. Red its is average powerful colour represent power and confidence. • One key thing about the logo it the shape that the x on Cex looks like. It is two arrows crossing each other and I believe that represents the exchange between the company and the customers because not only the sell video game and consoles the also buy them off you. •
  • 6. CEX Poster • Cex’s poster is poster is highly detailed. The poster has a old fashion London 19 century look to it. I was thinking it was like because the first store opened in 1992 just before they entered the technological revolution where stores started to change or start there look of high tech. • The poster kept the basic colours that they took from the logo and placed it in the poster keeping the consistency with the colours. I can see that they are choosing to keep the retro colour design because the colour choices for the poster seem to be kind of dimmed down to kind of look all use up and old. This poster was maybe trying to achieve a classic look to it and a special look that can be distingueshed from others, that’s the usual aim when people design a retro themed image or product.

  • 11. Existing products “Game” • Game is another retail game store that started in 1991, it’s a very new brand its has a reputation of advertising to younger audiences like looking in the website they are advertising for games which have a high sub total of you people playing the game. This company operated in the united Kingdom meaning that it was spread out through out the world so it had a larger amount of audiences. • Looking in at the time of when this game store started it is just one before video games where starting to improve and moving on to 3 dimensional games( Wolfenstein 3d, released in 1992, was the first game that started to resemble modern 3d games, but it still relied on flat cards for characters) • so what I’m trying to say is that it took a different path to most other stores taking like a futuristic next generation kind of look.
  • 12. Existing products “Game” Graphic design • Looking at the logo for the store it has a very simple bland look, fairly thick sized text with no further stuff that’s been added on like outlines and mixed colours. I have a feeling that they have taken this path because they are aiming to take a high tech design to it. • The website has the same theme, it only has colours that are heavily darkened to make look very professional. Sleek solid colours and images

  • 22. Existing products Adidas logos • In 1952, following the 1952 Summer Olympics, Adidas acquired its signature 3-stripe logo from the Finnish athletic footwear brand Karhu Sports, for two bottles of whiskey and the equivalent of 1600 euros. This logo does not have a specific look. The company simple placed three black stripes on everything that they manufactured. Even this early in their history, the company was known for this branding. The owner of the company at the time liked to call his business “The three stripe company”. Even as new logos took the place of the old ones, the company would remain loyal to the three stripes look. The trefoil was the second Adidas logo. The theme of three stripes is still evident in the look, both in the leave that shoot out from the logo, and the three stripes that cross it diagonally. This logo was chosen because the company wanted a logo that represented the fact that their brand was a lot larger and more diverse that it used to be while still keeping the classic Adidas look. • This logo is still used on some of their products, particularly their line of classic products. Most of their high-performance products have moved on to a third and final logo. • This logo is the latest one that has been introduced, and it represents some of the finest equipment that Adidas sells. This logo more than the others is supposed to have a lot of meaning. The company wanted to keep the three stripes that they were known for, but also add something to give the logo some power. • This new logo is supposed to resemble a mountain, like it is challenging the people who buy Adidas products to push themselves to their limits. This latest logo appears on many pieces of sports equipment and the new logo is still instantly and obviously “Adidas” to anyone who sees it. There is no denying that the Adidas logo is effective. Almost anyone who sees it can tell you it belongs to Adidas, and many companies are willing to spend billions for that sort of recognition. The Adidas logo probably works because it starts with a very simple design. • Three black stripes makes for a very striking design, and it can be placed on almost any product. The fact that no Adidas logo changes too much from the original design means that all of their logos empower their brand without the risk of going unrecognized. With a sizeable contribution from their logo, Adidas will probably remain a sportswear powerhouse for years to come. The Trefoil The Three Bars

  • 37. Question 1 and 2 Question 1 The age is vey important for my research on the survey because I'm attempting to reach the young audience are under the age of 40 really because I want young audiences for my store and I assume that the majority of the audiences/ costumers for the stores are young people. On my survey the majority of the audiences are young part from the on that put in there ages as 65+. That was people placing faulty information. Question 2 This part of the survey was kind of expected having more male then female wanting to do the survey, gaming is normally targeted at men more then female. However there is still female customers that would like to purchase games and consoles.
  • 38. Question 3 For this survey question I wanted to see what type of theme people would like mostly out of the three main themes and it seems that the high tech professional look was favourites with the percentage of 66.67%. I wasn’t purposed because high end retail companies like Game go that route and they have got highly successful. The trendy look I said was a little vague description, what I meant by that was a little like high tech but it has a look that fallows the trends that’s going round. Lastly the lowest most voted theme was retro that has a really low vote and I expected that. Retro was more of a look most older audiences go for but, the audience I'm targeting for meant to be younger so what I will have to do is go a high tech professional look. Summing it all female customers wanted the high tech professional look, men customers where mixed but prioritised in the high tech professional look.
  • 39. Question 4 This was very obvious on what the results was going to be because most game stores priorities in selling video games and high end platforms like switch ps4 and Xbox. Mostly the male chose the video game and consoles so I would have to priorities in advertising more products based around the consoles. Most of the female went for the accessories and lastly the dvd and movies was the lowest voted so I wouldn't’t have films in my store. Summing up the whole thing what I was trying to find out on question is what the majority of customers would be looking for when they enter the store and I felt that the consoles and games would be the most purchased.
  • 40. Question 5 • This was a very important question because the question was meant to help me chose a theme of the logo. The first answer told me what type of logo I should go for. The highest voted was the normal logo with the interesting font. For that answer it was simply just people that like the text style for the logos so that would mean prioritising in making an logo with very unique use of colour and effect around the text. • Second highest voted was the logo with shapes been foxed to look more interesting.
