Packaging (BD) Pvt. Ltd.
By Md Naim Hasan Towhid
🔹 Introduction
This report summarizes my training experience in the Warehouse Department of Maxim Label &
Packaging (BD) Pvt. Ltd. As part of my Management Trainee program starting July 1, 2018, I
spent one week gaining hands-on knowledge in inventory management, documentation
processes, and material flow between departments.
Warehouse Overview
Maxim operates two main warehouses:
1. Bonded Warehouse
2. Finished Goods Warehouse
🔹 1. Bonded Warehouse
Stores materials used for in-house production:
• Raw Materials
o Coated paper, kraft paper, paperboard, corrugated and recycled papers, etc.
o Widely used for garment hang tags.
• Semi-Finished Materials
o Mainly satin cloth used in care labels, size labels, composition labels, etc.
• Accessories & Office Supplies
o Includes calculators, staplers, files, tissue boxes, knives, markers, etc.
🔹 2. Finished Goods Warehouse
• Stores completed products after Quality Control.
• Goods are packed and stored here before final shipment.
🔹 Documentation Process
Two key documents are maintained:
• Challan: Required for material-in.
• IPO (Internal Purchase Order): Required for material-out to production.
🔹 Software and Systems
• DPS Warehouse Software: For digital inventory tracking.
• Inventory Cards: For manual backup tracking.
Maxim uses a hybrid system of both digital and manual record-keeping.
🔹 Common Buyers
Some key international buyers include:
Zara, Calvin Klein, Primark, Newlook, M&S, Nike, C&A, Jay Jay, TCP, Regatta, Adler,
Gymboree, and more.
🔹 Materials Used in Production
• Paper Types: Fedrigoni, Ningbo, Arjowiggins, Sappi, Moorim, FSC, etc.
• Satin Cloth Labels: BF Bofa, Unifull, Siny, Fivestar, etc.
🔹 Production Processes
Maxim uses five major production techniques:
1. Heavy Laser
2. Thermal Print (Ribbon-based)
3. Flexo (Manual system)
4. Digital Print
5. Outsourcing (OS)
• About 30% of production is done in-house, and 70% through outsourcing.
🔹 Production Flowchart
If In-House:
Sales → Planning → Purchase → Production → QC → Warehouse → Shipment
If Outsourced:
Sales → Purchase → QC → Warehouse → Shipment
🔹 Conclusion
During this short training period, I developed a clear understanding of warehouse operations,
documentation practices, and the production supply chain. This experience helped me connect
academic knowledge with practical processes, giving me a solid foundation in logistics and
inventory management in the garments and labeling industry.
