Designing the next generation in containerised cranes has
many challenges. On one hand the crane capacity has to
increase and at the same time all components have to be easy
to assembly and remain within the limits required for
containerised transport. For the main winches the solution was
found in a 40ft frame which provided it’s own supporting
structure and two detachable winch drums. Each drum, when
spooled with steel wire weighed as much as a container itself
and had therefore be transported seperately.
Maximum line pull 60 metric ton at 8th
layer
Wire speed 0-50 m
/min nominal line pull
50-70 m
/min reduced line pull
Spooling capacity 2100 m
Drums construction High Strength steel with Lebus shells
Power Hydraulic multi-motor system
Transmission Planetary gearbox with external pinion
The winches were designed in The Netherlands under
supervision of Lloyd’s Register, fabrication was executed in
Germany, commissioning and testing again in The
Netherlands
