The Challenge

VIP Vaping was a £12m turnover retail business purchased by British American
Tobacco and I helped manage the transition with BAT.
The original VIP store page was a single, static list of all 120 locations, making
individual stores almost invisible in local search results. For example, a customer
searching for a Glasgow store could see the page, but the result lacked prominence on
Google. This severely limited local visibility, footfall, and inbound enquiries.
Additionally, store data was inconsistent, with some information managed locally and
others outdated. Without proper optimisation, reviews, or structured pages, stores
were underperforming in search, reducing the potential for local traffic, phone
enquiries, and online engagement.
The Solution

· Store Pages - Created dynamic, individual pages for all 120 stores to
improve discoverability in local search.
· Store Finder - Updated the store finder and set up Google My Business
profiles, consolidating Store Finder accurate opening times, images, and
details for each location.
· Customer Reviews - Implemented a review acquisition strategy to build
local authority, ensuring at least 25 reviews per store before meta
optimisation.
· Meta Optimization - Conducted meta optimisation per store page,
targeting relevant local search terms in collaboration with the SEO agency.
