The process of finding and hiring the best-
qualified candidate (from within or outside
of an organization) for a job opening, in a
timely and cost effective manner. The
recruitment process includes analyzing the
requirements of a job, attracting employees
to that job, screening and selecting
applicants, hiring, and integrating the new
employee to the organization.
The purpose of recruitment

Recruitment of the right people is a key ingredient for the well
being of the organization.as the quality of a firm's human
resources depends to great extent upon the quality of its
recruits, so recruitment is a critical human resource function.

The purposes of recruitment are highlighted below:
To ensure that a larger pool of potentially qualified job candidates is generated at minimum
possible cost
To eliminate (or at least minimize) unqualified candidates, thus improving the success
rate of the selection process.
To discover and attract potential candidates who can meet the job requirements as well
who are suited to the organizations unique culture and climate.
To help the firm so as to meet its employment equity goals by attractive a divers
applicant pool.

recruit potential job candidates.as there is no one
best recruitment technique, so recruitment follow
steps.

Identification of job opening: As shown in figure, the recruitment
process starts with human resource planning and manager
requests.

Determination of job requirements: After jobs opening have
been identified, the next step is to determine their requirements.

3 Evaluation of alternatives: When job requirements are
specified, the firm may evaluation alternatives to
recruitments.
Proper recruitment: if alternatives are found to be
inappropriate, proper recruitment begins.at this stage, the
process seeks out the needed people.

5 Determination of Recruitment sources and Methods: Once the organization has
decided to recruit personnel, it is faced with two major decisions: where to search
for persons and how to inform the applicants of the job positions (i,e. recruiting
methods or channels). There are actually two sources of supply of human
resources.
Creation of Pool of Qualified Recruits: The last step is to generate a pool of qualified
recruits. At this stage, the company should use recruitment sources and methods
tailored to its specific needs.
Disadvantages of using internal sources

The recruitment process includes analyzing the requirements of a job, attracting employees to that job, screening and selecting applicants, hiring, and integrating the new employee to the organization.

To help the firm so as to meet its employment equity goals by attractive a divers applicant pool.

  • 7. 7 Identification of job opening: As shown in figure, the recruitment process starts with human resource planning and manager requests. 1 Determination of job requirements: After jobs opening have been identified, the next step is to determine their requirements. 2 3 Evaluation of alternatives: When job requirements are specified, the firm may evaluation alternatives to recruitments. Proper recruitment: if alternatives are found to be inappropriate, proper recruitment begins.at this stage, the process seeks out the needed people. 4
  • 8. 88 6 5 Determination of Recruitment sources and Methods: Once the organization has decided to recruit personnel, it is faced with two major decisions: where to search for persons and how to inform the applicants of the job positions (i,e. recruiting methods or channels). There are actually two sources of supply of human resources. Creation of Pool of Qualified Recruits: The last step is to generate a pool of qualified recruits. At this stage, the company should use recruitment sources and methods tailored to its specific needs.
