Dr. Nesa L’abbe Wu and Professor Lynda Walker, advisors of EMU/APICS, have selected to award
Christopher Elwell with the EMU/APICS student member of the year Award.
We like to thank George Krauter from Storeroom solutions for his contribution towards this award.
It is with much honor and respect that we strongly support the decision that Mr. Christopher Elwell be
awarded the prestigious honor of EMU/APICS student member of the year. We have known Chris Elwell
for some time. During this time, we have been his instructors for undergraduate business courses. We
have also known him and associated with him in our roles as advisors to the EMU/APICS Student
Chapter.
Chris graduated from North Farmington High School in 2012 and has quickly become an exemplary
student at EMU. Consistently, while in class, he promptly distinguishes himself within the class as a
leader not a follower. He presents all of his assignments in a timely fashion, usually much earlier than
required. He is thorough and comprehensive in all his coursework. Furthermore, we have witnessed
Chris working in a group setting amongst other students. He is always one to take initiative, focus on the
goal and drive hard to accomplish it. In addition, he routinely demonstrates thoughtful consideration of
fellow classmates, probes and analyzes to better understand the task at hand, and will usually submit
work that greatly exceeds the minimum requirements. Oftentimes, he asks good thought-provoking
questions and has never hesitated to offer fellow classmates constructive support as well as
encouragement. We would say that in the academic environment he is very well regarded and revered.
As an active member of the EMU/APICS Student Chapter, Chris is an extremely attentive board member
and participant in all chapter meetings, activities and functions. He never hesitates to offer creative
ideas, valid suggestions and helpful points of view. In addition, he clearly strives to meet & exceed the
key annual goals of the Student Chapter. It is refreshing to see a young student with so much energy and
eagerness to learn, achieve, lead and participate in activities related to supply chain management and
business leadership. It is no surprise that in 2015 Chris was elevated to the position of President to
EMU/APICS Student Chapter.
Without a doubt, Chris is destined for major success in the workforce when he graduates and leaves the
university setting. For sure, he has extremely high standards, is striving for educational excellence and is
in line to do great things in the future. The EMU/APICS Student Chapter is elated to have him as a major
contributor.
Thus, it is without hesitation that we endorse that Mr. Chris Elwell receive the EMU/APICS Student
Chapter member of the year award. He is obviously a deserving and incredibly valuable student asset for
the EMU APICS Student Chapter.
Sincerely,
Lynda P. Walker Nesa L. Wu, PhD
