Minorities in
Pakistan
 Quaid e Azam the founder of Pakistan, in his historical speech on
11th August 1947, very clearly guaranteed the freedom of
minorities in Pakistan by saying “You are free; you are free to go to
your temples; free to go to your mosques or to any other places of
worship in the State of Pakistan.
 In 1996, united nation announced 16 November as international
day for tolerance.
 Islam also teaches as tolerance asALLAH said in the quran:
Everyone's God-given human dignity must be respected,
regardless of his or her faith, race, ethnic origin, gender, or
social status (ref. Qur'an, 17:70).
 Because everyone is created by God Almighty, the Maker of all,
humans must treat one another with full honor, respect, and
loving-kindness.

Common
ground
Since each religion claim to be the way of salvation, Hick chooses
the concept of salvation to be a common ground for all religions to
analyze the impact of each religion on the human race. He defines
salvation as transformation of a believer from his/her
selfcenteredness to divine-centeredness. He is aware that this
salvation project is practical only when we are able to observe their
fruits in human life. Hick identifies love/compassion as the
observable 51 fruit of salvation in human life. All religions do agree
that love/compassion is the unselfish regard for others. Since every
religion promotes love/compassion to become divine-centered,
How to bring
people of
different faith
together?
 Common meeting place :
The All Nation Cafe is one such endeavour. Situated in a buffer zone
between the IsraeliArmy checkpoint and the PalestinianAuthority,
the cafe is an easily accessible meeting place for Israelis and
Palestinians. The cafe engages with young people on both sides of
the conflict and provides a neutral space to foster dialogue and
empowerment.

hatred
 Religion and politics should be kept separate

about their own belief. It has to have religious freedom which may
help stop religious conflict.

everyone because,
