Robert is a Director of Lambert Smith Hampton and head of Building
Consultancy. He has over 20 years of experience as a building
surveyor and a proven track record in the hotel sector. He has
worked previously for Watts Group (Watts and Partners).
Robert is experienced in the professional and consultancy side of the
business; having undertaken numerous development site appraisals,
surveys for investors and operators and dilapidations advice
together with some project work, throughout the UK and continental
Europe. His work has involved all manner of hotels, from family run
businesses, boutique offerings through value and high end chains,
as well as gaming and licenced leisure facilities, “club” concepts and
restaurants as well as student accommodation. He has worked for
UK based and overseas based clients.

Numerous surveys and Technical Due Diligence of hotels for
Standard Life (as owner investor), Kew Green, MWB, De Vere,
Moorfield, DuVin, throughout the UK understanding ownership and
cost issues as well as advising on listed buildings and modern high
rise properties, country house style accommodation and city centre
offerings. Part of a team advising Kew Green on recent acquisitions.
Working for both landlords and tenants, preparing schedules of
dilapidations and negotiating financial settlements for a broad range
of clients in different property sectors including hotels assessing
dilapidations liability.
Numerous insurance valuations for a variety of hotel and student
accommodation type buildings.
Working with Kew Green to assess future costs on properties.
Development Monitoring of different types of hotel developments,
notably in Gunwharf Quays for LandSecurities.
Surveys and specialist advice on rooms and services regarding a
