He concluded that those juveniles tried as adults committed new crimes sooner after their release from prison than the other juveniles. He noted that their crimes were also more serious and violent than their peers who were tried as juveniles. He recommends keeping juveniles in the juvenile justice system because most juvenile institutions provide education and treatment that is age appropriate for the younger inmates needing rehabilitation.”
