Editor's Notes

  1. Total number of Jobs held by Rancho Residents fell from 7,757 to 7700This tells us that there are less available jobs to those who live in Rancho Cordova
  2. This graph shows the overall decline in workers and residents.
  3. Red circles show area of major decline- Manufacturing decline 6% as a percentage of total jobs,Wholesale Trade decline 5% as a percentage of total jobsGreen Circles Show Areas of Growth-Finance and Insurance grew by 5.7% as a percentage of total jobsOther services (non including Public Administration) grew 5.8%Conclusions: Secondary sectors are in decline while most of the growth that we see in in the tertiary sector
  4. Similar to workersWe can see a huge increase in Health Care and Social AssistanceEducation Service makes a increase and remain one of the prominent industry sectorHowever they’re is a decrease in the Finance and Insurance/information/Manufacturing/Construction SectorAreas that appear that don’t see much improve are Art, Entertainment, and RecreationAnalyzation:The promising sectors are Health Care and Finance, but their should be improvement in construction as we can see some areas are foreclose and undeveloped.
  5. Earnings are fallingNot reaching a higher income bracket that could be possible
  6. Not much of a change in earnings although we see a slight decrease in wages. It is unclear if this is statistically significant Service jobs hold the most promising outlook for job growth
  7. Since 2002, the number of jobs located in Sacramento and Rancho Cordova has decreased by 270 and 160 respectively—about 5% decrease combined. While more than 11% of workers have been forced to find jobs elsewhere, about 850 jobs. Employment locations are increasingly more scattered since 2002. Where are residents finding work now? AKA let’s find out more about All other locations.
  8. Graph on the left suggests that, increasingly, residents must travel farther distances in search of employment. Suggests there are simply not enough jobs located in closer areas.Graph on right shows that Sacramento and other areas near/north of Rancho Cordova have less job opportunities since 2002—residents must search south/farther from the Sacramento area in search of employment. Some areas like La Riviera and Elk Grove are close to Rancho Cordova and might use Public Transportation—busses, trains mostly. Other areas too far—could maybe use trains, but cars are probably more convenient.
  9. Public trans tends to take longer in general than driving alone which Is why it is not included in the last two categories and slowly increases as the time increases. Driving alone is the most prominent mode of trans.
  10. Promising employment opportunities for residents are in service sector jobs. These jobs will range in skill level from retail trade to the finance industry. health care, education, public services, retail trade. For workers, these are: professional, technical and scientific jobs, as well as finance and insurance these seem to have higher paying, more skilled jobs while the residents of RC have the lower paying jobs. The best locations for employment opportunities seem to be moving away from the Sacramento area and scattered into southern suburban areasSome are located nearby while others are farther distancesThe employment opportunities that are available for the residents are the same that are available for the workers, but there may be an educational gap that prevents residents from obtain these jobs.
