According to her, communication is a major tool in building all sorts of relationships: personal, family, school,
career, business, or societal. It is a two-way process wherein there is a giver and a receiver and can only be deemed
successful if two parties get the message conveyed.

past 20 years, and communication is the primary tool she use to succeed in these jobs. She’ ll never be able to pass

5. What are your communicative strategies?
Mrs Rediang mainly uses two (2) major communication strategies: 1) verbal communication and 2) non-verbal
communication. For verbal communication strategies, she would use online platforms such as email, chats, video
calling apps (skype, wechat, fb messenger, whatsapp, etc.) to get all information and messages through for her
students and clients. For students, she would email them lessons and homework and they would have online
platforms as their classroom. Mrs. Rediang would discuss lessons and entertain questions and inquiries from her
students to successfully pass on learning to them. As for her clients both in being a virtual assistant and a
cryptocurrency trader, her clients would send her email or chat messages about tasks they want her to accomplish,
and she would call or email them back for further questions and confirmation of the possibility of the task or
whether it is done.
For the non-verbal communication strategies, Mrs. Rediang could only use this during video calls. She would make
sure that her students and clients would see her reactions such as smiling, nodding, thumbs up or down, waving her
hands, or even clapping to give more emphasis to the message/information she give or receive. She find this strategy
very useful for her younger ESL students since most of them are non-speakers of English during their early phase of
learning.
7. Among all of them, what is the most effective in your field?
She can honestly say that both strategies, verbal & non-verbal, are very effective in her field of work. The verbal
strategies work more effectively on her adult students & clients, while the non-verbal strategies work wonders for
her younger and beginner ESL students.
8. Are communicative strategies important? why or why not?
As per her, communication strategies are very important because they will effectively aid communicators in passing
information/messages. Choosing the most effective communication strategy will ensure success and help
communicators navigate all sorts of barriers and challenges.
