2. INTRODUCTION:
Blood is essential to life. Blood circulates through our body and
delivers essential substances like oxygen and nutrients to the
body’s cells. It also transports metabolic waste products away
from those same cells
Ayurveda's purification of the blood (Raktasaaf) is a special
remedy for treating skin diseases.
The main cause of skin diseases is blood impurities.
The exquisite herbs used in this preparations are well known
for purifying the blood and curing skin ailments/ condition.
3. The blood serves three main functions:
• Transport. The blood transports gases like oxygen and carbon
dioxide to and from the lungs and the rest of the body. The
blood also moves nutrients from the digestive tract to the rest of
the body, and transports waste products, hormones, and other
cells.
• Protection. The blood contains white blood cells that destroy
invading microorganisms, as well as platelet factors to clot the
blood and minimize blood loss from an injury.
• Regulation. The blood helps to regulate your body’s pH, water
balance, and temperature.
4. Causes of blood impurities
Skin diseases can be mainly of four types: bacterial, viral,
fungal, congenital skin diseases.
Causes which are included in blood impurities are modern
life style, junk food, alcohol etc.
If the blood becomes impure it causes different problems e.g.
acne, rashes, allergic etc. There is not any proper synthetic
medication for blood impurities.
Only herbal formulations are used for the blood purifier.
5. Risk factor of blood impurities
The bacteria spread in the environment, gases, polluted water,
insomnia, junk foods, late night watching TV, keeping awake,
skipping breakfast, incomplete sleep, junk foods, improper
breathing, bedrooms not properly ventilated,
and lack of exercise, drinking impure water and other harmful
drinks, such as: tea, coffee, liquor, soft and drinks, worry, fear,

13. Indication for Raktasaaf : Blood purifier, Skin eruptions
Acne,Pimples,Heat rashes, Dull Skin
Dose : Adults: 2 Tsp full BID for 22 days
Children: 1/2 to 1 Tsp full TID for 22 days or as per directed
by the physician
Direction: Consume dose by mixing in 100 ml of water, it
work better generally in empty stomach, Recommended
should take Before meal in early morning and before dinner at
night and should drink maximum quantity of water.

Adverse drug reaction: No found it
Precaution: Avoid oilly food, rich fat, carbohydrate, spicy
food.
