This document reports on a ligand-free multi-component reaction for linking a quinoxaline framework to a benzimidazole nucleus to generate novel hybrid molecules as potential inducers of apoptosis. The reaction involves N-(prop-2-ynyl)quinoxalin-2-amine derivatives, 2-iodoanilines, and tosyl azide in the presence of copper iodide and triethylamine in DMSO. This produces the target hybrid molecules containing a quinoxaline-benzimidazole linkage in good yields within 30 minutes. Some of the synthesized compounds showed encouraging apoptosis inducing properties in zebrafish embryos.
Facile Syntheses of Substituted, Conformationally-Constrained Benzoxazocines ...JamesSahn
A multicomponent assembly process (MCAP) was utilized to prepare versatile intermediates that are suitably functionalized for subsequent cyclizations via Ullmann and Heck reactions to efficiently construct substituted 2,6-methanobenzo[b][1,5]oxazocines and 1,6-methanobenzo[c]azocines, respectively. The intramolecular Ullmann cyclization was conducted in tandem with an intermolecular arylation that enabled the rapid syntheses of a number of O-functionalized methanobenzoxazocines.

APPLICATIONS OF MULTICOMPONENT ASSEMBLY PROCESSES TO THE FACILE SYNTHESES OF ...JamesSahn
Several multicomponent assembly processes have been developed for the synthesis of intermediates that may be elaborated by a variety of cyclizations to generate a diverse array of highly functionalized heterocycles from readily-available starting materials. The overall approach enables the efficient preparation of libraries of small molecules derived from fused, privileged scaffolds. Source: Heterocycles 84:2 2012 pg 1089-1112
Micellar Effect On Dephosphorylation Of Bis-4-Chloro-3,5-Dimethylphenylphosph...IOSR Journals
The rate enhancement depends on the hydrophobicity of the nucleophile. The micellar catalyzed reaction between bis-4-chloro-3,5-dimethylphenylphosphate ester and hydroxide or hydroperoxide anions has been examined in buffered medium (pH 8-10). First order rate constant (Kψ) for the reaction of hydroxide ion with bis-4-CDMPP go through maxima with the increasing concentration of cetyltrimethylammoniumbromide (CTABr). Micelles of CTABr very effective catalyst to the reactions of phosphate diesters. Rate constants measured with OH2- ions are approximately twice and thrice than that of OH- ions in presence of CTABr.

ENHANCING ENERGY RECOVERY FROM RAW GLYCEROL VIA ULTRASOUND-ASSISTED ANAEROBIC...indexPub
Anaerobic digestion of crude glycerol derived from biodiesel production is being studied as an alternative to valorization through methane production. The high organic load (1800 g COD L-1 ) of crude glycerol can cause kinetic stress, leading to inhibition of methanogenic microorganisms. To overcome this issue, an alternative approach is the use of ultrasound energy, which promotes cell wall and membrane disruption and releases intracellular material that enhances biodigestion.
