Radio Trailer: Evaluation
My task was to produce a Radio Trailer for my short film. This meant including a piece of music, a voice and some form of sound. After I had completed the trailer I produced a questionnaire and gave it to a test audience in order to get feedback.
Q: “Did you like the trailer?”
Q: “Did it make you want to see the film?” I think that if my trailer made this many people want to see the film that it was quite effective and therefore successful trailer
Q: “Did you think the voice was effective?” Although it’s obviously disappointing that people thought that the voice wasn’t effective, I didn’t explain to people beforehand why I had used a child's voice but once I had explained they understood and said that it made more sense.
Q: “Do you remember the name of the film?”
Q: “Do you remember when the film is out?” I’m not particularly worried about this because all the people who listened remembered the films name which means if they were to hear the name of the film and then were interested in finding out when it was released, they would be able to go on the internet or look in a magazine and find out
Q: “What did you like most about the trailer?” I thought the voice was really creepy, but in a good way! I liked it because I think if I was in the car or something it’d make me pay attention I thought the music was good I thought the scream and the gunshot were really effective
Q: “Is there any other information you would have included?” I’d have said who was in it rather than just who directed it I’d have used different music
Q: “How would you rate the trailer out of 5?”
As can be seen, my radio trailer wasn’t as successful as my other ancillary task but I’m not unhappy with the feedback, they’re valid points, the main one being the child's voice although once I had explained to people about the voice people agreed and thought it was effective.
