Centrifuges and radioactive counters are the two most vital pieces of equipment needed for radioimmunoassay. An effective centrifuge should be capable of 1200-2500 rpm and is preferably a swing-bucket rotor model to easily remove supernatant. Gamma counters are used to detect gamma-emitting isotopes like Iodine-125, while scintillation counters can detect other isotopes.
