RAC Workshop:
W1-B: RAC & FPE Governance
(RAC plenary)
Workshop 1B: To clarify the
role of RAC in FPE
Governance and in PDME
processes
Note: This will be done in plenary. Each
RAC can answer the questions and these
will be collated/summarized in a matrix
Workshop 1B: Guide Question
1. Knowing the
traditional roles of the
RAC, what are the
new/emerging roles that
you want to assume
based on current needs
and realities?
Workshop 1B: Guide Question
2. How do you envision
to carry out these new
roles and
responsibilities? Define
the strategies and
mechanisms to do
these.
Workshop 1B: Matrix
New/Emerging Roles Strategies & Mechanisms
1. Involvement in the PDME
*Comments:
-RAC should not be involved
in the review of proposals
because it is in conflict of
interest with their role as
advisor to the BOT
-RAC as Eds of their
organizations may not have
time for the evaluation
process
- Proposals approved should
be consistent to the REA
- RAC to be part of the
proposal review process
(but not at the expense of
set deadlines)
Workshop 1B: Matrix
New/Emerging Roles Strategies & Mechanisms
1. Involvement in the PDME
*Comments:
-If proposals are not in line
with REA, then RAC can
advise (Mindanao)
- Review PDME process of
FPE (Mindanao)
- Review roles/capacities of
FPE staff in the review of
proposals (Mindanao)
- Stick to the old roles but
- Proposals approved should
be consistent to the REA
- RAC to be part of the
proposal review process
(but not at the expense of
set deadlines)
- Allow the RAC to input in
the review of the proposals
- FPE to review internal
structure, processes, and
human resources
Workshop 1B: Matrix
New/Emerging Roles Strategies & Mechanisms
2. Liaison to Government/IPs
*there are Christian
perspectives/practices that
are offensive to IPs
3. RAC to have local area
coordinators (since they do
not cover their regional
assignment)
