Quintel has released a new 8-foot, 8-port quadband slimline antenna for wireless networks in North America. The antenna allows operators to combine four frequency bands (700MHz, 850MHz, 1900MHz, 2100MHz) onto one antenna. Each band and polarization can be independently tilted. This will help operators upgrade existing cellular and PCS sites to support LTE in 700MHz and AWS bands using a single replacement antenna. The new antenna provides more flexibility and optimizes networks with lower costs.

Beyond Consumer and Ka-Band: The Future of Traditional VSATNewtec
While everybody today is talking about consumer VSAT and Ka-band, there is also a very large traditional VSAT market.
Recent satellite and VSAT technology evolutions are opening doors to VSAT markets which have been out of reach before.
Presented during a similarly named webinar in June 2013, this presentation tackles the following questions:
- Do C- and Ku-band still have a future in VSAT? And what would that future look like?
- Which new markets have been enabled with recent VSAT technology evolutions?
- How to generate more revenues while optimizing your CAPEX/OPEX resources?

Quintel 8 foot 8 port press release feb 2013

Quintel Releases 8-Foot, 8-Port Quadband Slimline Antennas
for North American Operators
Quintel’s 8-Foot, 8-Port Quadband Antennas allow operators to combine all four major
frequency bands in North America onto one antenna.
ROCHESTER, New York ─ Feb 20, 2013 ─ Quintel®, a leading innovator of spectrum
and space efficient antennas for wireless networks, has introduced its next series of
industry leading MultiServ™ 8-Port/Quadband Slimline Antennas.
The Quintel MultiServ Quadband 8-Foot, 8-Port Antennas with patented QTilt™
technology uniquely delivers four or six independent service tilts in a single slim-line 12”
wide antenna. This enables existing Cellular (850MHz) and/or PCS (1900MHz) Band
antenna-constrained sites to be upgraded to LTE in both 700MHz & AWS bands with
the replacement of one like-for-like antenna. Quintel antenna solutions enhance network
efficiency, improve quality of service, mitigate tower loading concerns and lower
environmental impact – with the lowest cost per transmitted bit. The Quintel MultiServ
Quadband 8-Port Antennas are an ideal solution for independently optimizing multiple
services when rapidly introducing new services. Technology agnostic, each band
provides flexibility for optimizing existing and future technologies such as GSM/GPRS,
UMTS/HSPA, CDMA/EVDO, LTE/LTE-Advanced including MIMO implementations. The
tilt of each band is controlled independently via internal RET actuators compliant to
AISG1.1, AISG2.0 and 3GPP protocols. In addition to independent tilt per band the
Quintel MultiServ Quadband 8-Port Antenna uniquely offers patented tilt per polarization
for the legacy bands. This gives a total of 6 independent tilts 1x(698-787MHz) +
2x(824-894MHz) + 2x(1850-1990MHz) + 1x(1710-1755/2110-2170MHz) enabling
additional applications such as hybrid spatial + polarization diversity, sectorization in the
vertical plane, high power Passive Intermodulation mitigation and other specialized
applications.
For those markets that have PCS and AWS spectrum which, when combined, would
generate harmful inter-band 3rd order Passive Intermodulation (PIM3) interference,
these antennas allow for the combination of those bands on the same polarized array
for up to either 40W of composite power for each band, or 60W AWS and 30W PCS.
2. “Quintel introduced our 6ft by 1ft 8-Port antennas in 2012, which were immediately
adopted and deployed by major Operators at their antenna constrained sites. With the
release of our 8 Foot version, Operators can choose the most optimal antenna length to
achieve coverage and capacity goals over the major North American frequency bands
reducing opex per subscriber,” said Joe Veni, Quintel’s Vice President of Sales and
Business Development. “Infrastructure providers likewise can extract the maximum
capacity for minimum cost from their existing physical sites now without incurring the
cost of tower upgrades and redevelopment nor have to install costly, complex and
inefficient combining schemes.”
Quintel Solutions
Unlike conventional multi-port antennas, Quintel’s technology empowers operators to
reduce unnecessary infrastructure and thereby allowing them to more quickly and
efficiently expand their services and networks. Since 2006, North America, European
and Indian deployments, are demonstrating positive and measurable performance and
economic results relative to operator coverage through a combination of increased RAD
centers, antenna consolidation, and additional cost savings on both initial capital outlays
and recurring operating expenses. Thus operators can deploy faster, with lower costs,
and fully maintain their desired quality of service with complete reliability and minimal
downtime.

and manufacturing solutions. The company’s products enable global wireless operators
to independently deploy and optimize multiple air interfaces or services on a single
standard antenna platform. Quintel is the only antenna maker whose products can
increase a wireless network’s capacity, and the number of services, without increasing
the number of antennas or size. Our core technologies originated in the United
Kingdom’s Ministry of Defence, and are now deployed throughout the world. Quintel is
headquartered in Mountain View, California with additional offices throughout North
America, Europe and Asia. More information about Quintel is available at
