Question words are used to form questions and include words like what, where, who, why, and how. They are called WH words because most start with those letters. What is used to ask for information about an object or ask for repetition. Where asks about a place or position. Who asks about a person or people. Why asks for a reason. How asks about manner or condition. Question words are an essential part of forming questions in different tenses.
