This document outlines 5 challenges for developing quantitative solutions for children with epilepsy: 1) medication often has side effects, 2) ensuring adherence to medication schedules, 3) nightly seizure tracking using various sleep tracking devices, 4) collecting and organizing medical and circumstantial information related to seizures, and 5) developing seizure alert systems. It also briefly mentions several experimental treatments and technologies being developed for epilepsy.
